‘General Hospital’ (GH) spoilers finds that we know and love her as Jordan Ashford. Now, Briana Nicole Henry is opening up about her own mental health and her fight with depression. On World Mental Health Day, she opened up about it on social media and we were excited to read her thoughts on her own depression and opening up as a soap star.

On Henry’s Instagram, she really opened up about her depression. She posted “Today is #world mental health day. I don’t speak much about it on social media. It’s really easy to look at peoples pages you follow and because of what they post, lose sight of the daily struggles they may deal with. I’ve had depression for as long as I can really remember. If you know me intimately, you know that there are days I don’t even want to get out of bed. I’ve learned though, it’s easier to soften that voice with kindness, and people who love me, moving my body, feeding my body well, a little therapy, a lot of therapy…Feed your soul frequently, whatever that means to you. “

Briana Nicole Henry‘s fans reached out to her after this post and many of them shared their own stories with her. It was incredibly brace of her to post about her own struggles with depression and bring it to everyone’s attention. Not all soap stars have an easy life and there are some, like Henry, that deal with this everyday.
World Mental Health Day is on October 10th every year. It is a day to educate and build awareness on mental health struggles. There are some countries that even observe an entire week for educating others about mental health and how it can change someone’s life forever.
