‘General Hospital’ (GH) spoilers suggest that Gio Palmeri (Giovanni Mazza) attended Monica Quartermaine’s (Leslie Charleson) funeral last week and witnessed how the Quartermaine family remained united.
‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: Gio Bonded With His Family Over Monica’s Death
He bonded with Tracy Quartermaine (Jane Elliot) and Ned Quartermaine (Wally Kurth). We can only hope his next step is to let Brook Lynn Quartermaine (Amanda Setton) and Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna) into his life.
After the memorial service, he told Tracy that he was proud to be her great-grandson. While it will take time, Gio may come around and embrace his family. He may even take the Quartermaine name like his mother, Brook Lynn.
At the reception, Gio was talking to Ned. He recognized that he may have gotten his musical abilities from him. We would love Gio to play music with his grandfather, Ned.
Gio is still hurt, confused, and furious over Brook Lynn giving him up as a baby. He was lied to his whole life by his grandmother, Lois Cerullo (Rena Sofer).
When he learned the truth at the Nurses Ball, he smashed his violin and raged at his parents, who he felt “didn’t want him.”
Understandably, he needs some time, but he should realize that Brook Lynn’s decision to give up her son was the most painful choice she’s ever had to make.
Her decision to give him up was out of pure love. She wanted a better life than she, a teenage girl at the time, could offer him.
The night Gio found out about his true parentage, he immediately moved out of the Quartermaine mansion. He wanted nothing to do with his family.
‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: Gio Should Make An Effort To Forgive His Parents
When Harrison Chase (Josh Swickard) saw that Gio was bonding with the Quartermaines, he encouraged Brook Lynn to stay positive and not give up hope, as it seemed he was finally taking some significant steps.
Tracy is also quite fond of Gio. She wants to help him forgive his mother and father and rejoin the family fold. While she respects his decision, she’ll no doubt try to convince him to come back.
Gio also seemed to appreciate being included in the family. They shared stories about Monica, and at the reception, they made a toast to celebrate her life.
It was clear from the way Gio responded to the Quartermaines that he’s more open and willing to accept his relatives, which is a good start.
We also have to point out that Gio has been far more loyal to the Quartermaines than Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison). Gio stood by Tracy when Drew threatened to tear down the Quartermaine family crypt.
He stood up to Drew when Drew approached him at the Metro Court pool. Drew tried to say that they had a lot in common.
Gio quickly shut him down, which was fun to watch. Since Tracy would let hell freeze over before she ever allowed Drew to take the Quartermaine name, perhaps Gio can use it.
Regardless, Gio needs to try to form a relationship with his mother, Brook Lynn, and father, Dante. It would be wonderful to see Gio finally let his parents into his heart.
