‘Andi Mack’ actor Stoney Westmoreland has been sentenced to 2 years in federal prison for sex crimes involving a minor. After his time in jail, the 52-year-old will be on ten years of supervision and is required to register as a sex offender. The former Disney Channel star was first arrested in Salt Lake City in December 2018.

He was charged with trying to lure a minor into sex. While lawmakers initially wanted him to serve a ten-year sentence, he instead entered a plea deal that allowed him to be in prison for just 2 years. His lesser indictment stated that he used interstate workings to transport information about a minor.

He also must cooperate with random searches on his electronic devices as well as report his email and social media accounts. He is barred from contact with people who are under the age of 18 without adult supervision. It was reported back in 2018 that he was using the app Grindr when he found the profile of a “supposed” 13-year-old boy.

However, the profile was actually created by detectives in Salt Lake City where his Disney show was filmed. He was fired soon after his arrest.

He allegedly used a car-sharing app to meet up with the teen so they could go to his hotel room. Police also claim he sent sexual photos to the child and requested photos from him as well.

After his arrest he was analyzed by Dr. Fred Berlin of Johns Hopkins Institute for the Study, Prevention and Treatment of Sexual Trauma saying that the star didn’t show a sexual interest in children. Interestingly enough he’s going to prison for that…
