Former Vlog Squad member Durte Dom returned to social media, first by posting a tiktok with the caption “living my best life” where he’s on a lounge chair between two scantily clad girls eating cereal. This prompted some confusion by fans, one of which responded with, “He forgot he cancelled or what?” so then Dom posted again saying, “It is time for me to address the recent allegations that have come out against me.
I want to sincerely apologize directly to the women involved in this incident.” I’m guessing a DM would have been out of the question?
Durte Dom breaks his silence
He went onto say, “As far as I am concerned, everything that occured during that night in question was completely consensual. I believe the statements that have come out against me are entirely misleading and shed an incorrect light on my involvement.”
He also says that he has recently donated his time and money to several women’s rights groups to show his support for the unjustified and unncessary struggles that women face. I think we can all say that he could start by remembering that enthusiastic consent is a thing and that someone who is three sheets to the wind cannot legally give consent.
No matter what his perception of this night is, the fact of the matter is, the video evidence is there and would probably stand up in a court of law. Especially if the victim’s lawyer decided to subpoena the deleted footage from the vlogs from the cloud. After all, didn’t David Dobrik say that if they didn’t cut things out in editing that they would all be in jail?
It also doesn’t help matters that David Dobrik originally uploaded this video evidence as a video entitled, “She should not have played with fire.” because that makes everyone involved look shady whether or not they were actively involved in the alleged crime that took place or not.
Social media influencers like Trisha Paytas have taken to twitter and are not having any of this apology. They along with a lot of fans are saying that Dom’s apology is narcissistic and the only thing he’s really concerned about his is reputation, although, I will say, it took him long enough, didn’t it? An entire month? I’m guessing in the grand scheme of things an apology didn’t really matter all that much to him. We’ll see. Stay tuned!!!
