Amber Heard has admitted to failing to pay her pledged $3.5 million donation to the ACLU after she claimed she would use the money she got in her divorce for that cause. She testified on the stand and said that it was Johnny Depp suing her that kept her from going through with her donation because of court and lawyer costs.
This doesn’t come as a shock to anyone, but, the bad news for Heard is that she has claimed several times, including under oath in 2020 when they had Depp’s libel case in the United Kingdom, where she said she had donated the settlement to charity.

While on the stand after a lengthy break from the trial, Heard said, “I fully intend to honor all of my pledges. I would love for him to stop suing me so I can.” She fully admits to not donating the money and claims that she will honor her pledge as soon as the trial is over.
This is just another thing for Heard to deal with. She’s already become a worldwide meme for all of her antics in the trial, not to mention the feces in the bed story. Adding a lie about donating to the ACLU and Children’s Hospital is not going to help her case in the eyes of the public, not to mention, she is Amber Heard. I would figure she doesn’t need the divorce settlement to donate that money.
She claims that she remains financially independent from him, yet, she can’t seem to fulfill her promise of donating that money that she, in fact, won from him!
Heard said: “I didn’t care about the money. I was told if I didn’t agree to a number it could be overturned, we would never settle. I took far less than what they were offering and what I was entitled to.”
