Days of Our Lives spoilers confirm that our hunch was correct. Little Rachel Black (Alice Halsey) was the one who shot EJ DiMera (Dan Feuerreigel).
‘Days Of Our Lives’ Spoilers: Rachel Meant To Shoot Her Uncle EJ
We thought it may have been an accident, but nope. Rachel meant to shoot her uncle EJ. On the night in question, Rachel confronted EJ and demanded to know what he did with her grandmother, Rachel Blake (Roslyn Gentle).
EJ told his ten-year-old niece to put the gun down and give it back to him. However, she quickly informed him that she would do no such thing until he told her where her grandma Rachel was.
When EJ refused to acknowledge that he was responsible for her grandmother’s disappearance, the kid shot EJ point-blank in the chest.
Thankfully, EJ’s brother, Chad DiMera (Billy Flynn), found him and called an ambulance in time. EJ recalled the dramatic confrontation between himself and his niece during the August 19th episode of Days.
He had been working with Marlena Evans (Deidre Hall) as she performed hypnosis sessions on EJ in the hopes of exonerating his son, Johnny DiMera (Carson Boatman).
Today, Belle Black (Martha Madison) said aloud what we’ve surmised for months. Whoever shot EJ was someone that Marlena and EJ would want to protect.
EJ has struggled to remember who pulled the trigger until now. Marlena brought Rachel to the DiMera mansion, and the child started to play with an expensive bauble.
The familiar sound the bauble made triggered EJ’s memory as he finally uncovered his memories from that fateful evening.
‘Days Of Our Lives’ Spoilers: Marlena And EJ Strategize Over What Comes Next
Not only did EJ remember, but, in that moment, Marlena also realized the terrible truth. EJ flashed to his young niece holding the gun on him and making accusations about her grandmother.
When Rachel dropped the glass ball and it shattered, EJ suddenly remembered who shot him, and it was little Rachel! EJ was left in a state of shock.
Interestingly, EJ’s comment about Rachel becoming more and more like her mother, Kristen DiMera (Stacey Haiduk), is on point.
We have to wonder how this will all play out. Will the DiMera family cover for Rachel? Spoilers indicate that Marlena and EJ will strategize over what happens next.
However, what if the jury decides that Johnny is guilty? We can imagine EJ dramatically rising to his feet and declaring that the one who really shot him was Rachel.
That said, we can also see it going the other way, and EJ and the DiMeras could decide to resort to a massive cover-up. Johnny also wouldn’t want the little girl to endure any more trauma.
After all, Rachel is only a child and didn’t realize the severity of her actions. Nor did she understand the consequences. Yet, Rachel knew all along Johnny was innocent.
Rachel stood by and said nothing while her cousin, Johnny, endured hell, desperately trying to prove his innocence. He could even be sent to prison for a crime he didn’t commit. However, she is only a child.
‘Days Of Our Lives’ Spoilers: Kristen Takes The Fall For Her Daughter
Based on the Days weekly preview, Kristen takes the fall for her troublemaking daughter. However, if Kristen is willing to go to prison, they need to all agree to protect Rachel.
We doubt that EJ will take issue with Kristen’s decision. Marlena is also in the impossible position, not only as EJ’s therapist, but also as Rachel’s doting grandmother.
The look on EJ and Rachel’s faces when EJ came to the stunning revelation that Rachel was the shooter was telling. Neither one of them really wants Rachel to go down for this.
Rachel looked understandably terrified. She knows that EJ successfully unlocked his memories. The Days preview shows Kristen having a meltdown in the courtroom.
For all her faults, and there are plenty, Kristen loves her little girl and wouldn’t allow Rachel to be taken away by Child Protective Services or, much worse.
Brady Black (Eric Martsolf) will have to face the fact that his daughter is capable of committing a heinous crime. It’s as soapy as it gets.
Rachel shooting her own uncle is the tragic outcome of decades of dark history and violence in the DiMera family.
