‘Days of Our Lives (DOOL)’ spoilers find that Feuerriegel believes “the worst is yet to come” from his character E.J. now that he has discovered his wife cheated on him with ex-husband, Lucas Horton (Bryan Dattilo).
“EJ definitely is a very hurt soul,” says Feuerriegel before adding, “You’ll definitely see his darker side.”

A dark DiMera? It’s about time!
Dan Feuerriegel admits that EJ knows his own shortcomings when it comes to being a husband, but after giving wife, Sami Brady (Alison Sweeney) the chance to come clean…and she didn’t…“That’s what EJ can’t forgive,” Feuerriegel explains. “That’s where the blow-up happens.”
We all saw EJ DiMera (Dan Feuerriegel) threaten Lucas with a letter-opener before tossing Sami out of the DiMera manse, but having man-servant, Harold pack Sami’s things for her (rather than have them tossed in the front yard as per EJ’s alternative) isn’t exactly “dark”.
However, Feuerriegel, who incidentally loves EJ and Sami’s relationship (“It’s great. It’s unusual. It keeps you guessing. It’s fresh, and it’s fun. I love that element of old storytelling and that element of acting. It just keeps the juices flowing”) says, “The extent of the darkness depends on what you regard as dark and remains to be seen. He definitely is a very hurt soul, and whatever comes out of that is the darkness. Everything coming out of him after that is based on that hurt.”
Expect antagonism, controlling, lashing out, more blow-ups with Lucas and…a new woman?
“He does find comfort in another person…in another girl,” Feuerriegel teases. “It initially starts off as ‘let’s just use this to kind of move on from things’ but, over time, it starts to develop. And it’s still ongoing at the moment. I don’t know where they’re taking it. This person brings out honesty in EJ. She can see why he’s doing the things that he’s doing and kind of forces him to be honest about it.”
Alison Sweeney’s Sami will be going off canvas for a little while after being kidnapped on Wednesday however she, too has opened up about currently filming new scenes. Will she be saved from her kidnapper only to find her husband in the arms of another woman?
Who could it be? Abigail Devereaux (Marci Miller), the woman EJ had a torrid affair with (and incidentally his brother’s wife)? Maybe Abigail’s half-sister Gwen Rizczech (Emily O’Brien)? Currently Gwen is kicking it with Xander Cook (Paul Telfer), perhaps we could have a real battle of the British accents here.
What about Kate Roberts (Lauren Koslow)? She’s got no one thing to do these days now she’s lost Jake DiMera (Brandon Barash) and that would really be sticking it to love rival (and Kate’s son), Lucas. Now that’s a darkness we are down with!
