‘Days of Our Lives’ spoilers reveal that four major actors have been fired from DOOL. It’s a shocking casting move that no one on the canvas saw coming.
‘Days of Our Lives’ Spoilers: “The Blindsided Actors Were Given Their Walking Papers”
Carson Boatman, who plays Johnny DiMera; Raven Bowens, who plays Chanel Dupree DiMera; Leo Howard, who plays Tate Black; and Ashley Puzemis, who plays Holly Jonas, were all let go a day after they returned from Christmas break.

A DOOL insider told the Daily Mail,
“It was a New Year’s bloodbath at Days of Our Lives this month as the cast returned from Christmas hiatus.”
They continued,
“The blindsided actors were ‘given their walking papers in a shock move as soon as the show resumed taping after the holidays.”
The insider added,
“Days decided they needed to switch things up. All four actors were let go last week, within a day of getting back to the show’s holiday hiatus. They were totally blindsided, especially Carson, who was renegotiating a new contract.”
It comes as a shock, especially since Johnny and his wife, Chanel, recently adopted a baby named Trey DiMera (Joseph Ihlenf and Jordan Perdue). Not to mention the fact that Chanel is also pregnant.
It seemed like the perfect opportunity for Bowen and Boatman to have a big storyline, but it looks like the Peacock soap is headed in a different direction.
‘Days of Our Lives’ Spoilers: Boatman Had High Hopes to Stick Around
Boatman had been hoping to stick with DOOL long-term and even recently shared with E! at the 60th anniversary celebration of DOOL in November,
“We both have jobs, and so it’s like balancing our careers and our new baby, that we weren’t expecting to get.”
She added,
“So now, we’re just figuring it all out. Then, we’re going to be thrown a major surprise.” Bowens also confirmed that one surprise would be “a miracle,” while another would be “a tragedy.”

Puzemis plays Holly Jonas, who is also the daughter of a legacy character, Nicole Walker(Arianne Zucker). Tate Black, who is Holly’s love interest, played by Leo Howard and a legacy character, is also leaving the show.
These lay-offs came as a significant shock to the whole canvas. Plus, several recasts are coming to DOOL soon. Alice Halsey, who plays Rachel Black, has exited stage left from DOOL to play in the Netflix reboot of Little House on the Prairie.
‘Days of Our Lives’ Spoilers: MAJOR Upcoming Recasts Will Join the Show
Al Calderon left DOOL to his part as Javi Hernandez to play on the Primetime show, Brilliant Minds. Marissa Reyes, who plays Arianna Horton, and the daughter of Gabi Hernandez, will soon be replaced.
Plus, Cary Christopher, who playsThomas DiMera, will also be replaced. Boatman has “no hard feelings” toward the legendary soap. He told The Daily Mail that he is
“incredibly grateful for the past five years.”

“I have nothing but love and respect for everyone over there from top to bottom. The closing of this chapter is bittersweet for me, as I’ve cherished every moment spent walking those halls and sound stages.”
The actor added,
“A lot of tears, a lot of laughter have been spilled on those sets by so many people, including myself. I am genuinely excited to see what the future holds for me, as well as the show.”

Boatman concluded,
“P.S. Thank you from the bottom of my heart to everyone who has been a fan of Johnny. The show tapes LONG in advance, so we’ll still be seeing him for quite a while.”
Significant casting changes have occurred under the new writing regime of Jeanne Marie Ford and Paula Cwikly, who took over the reins from Ron Carlivoti in April 2025.
