‘Days of Our Lives’ (DOOL) spoilers reveal that Brandon Barash, who plays Stefan DiMera, has confirmed his exit from the Peacock sudser.

It was reported earlier that Barash was rumored to be leaving the show, and now the actor wants to speak out about his firing.
It seems like a trend on soaps now that popular actors are inexplicably getting fired. General Hospital just let go of Kelly Monaco, who played Sam McCall. Unfortunately, her character is moments away from death.
However, Days fans don’t need to worry about Stefano meeting the same fate. Stefano’s exit is somehow tied with Vivian Alamian’s (Louise Sorel) return.
The show films far in advance, and Barash has known since March that his character was being axed from the soap.
Barash was interviewed by Soaps.com and admitted his character would be leaving
“sometime before Halloween.”
He said,
“I was in the middle of a contract, and it was the writer’s decision.”
Barash explained,
“I finished some scenes one day, some pretty emotional scenes with Cherie (who plays Gabi Hernandez DiMera).”
He said the scenes were after crazy Connie Viniski (Julie Dove) placed a bomb in the secret room at the DiMera mansion, almost killing Gabi. Fortunately, EJ DiMera (Dan Feuerriegel) saved her in time. Gabi was in the hospital, and in those scenes, Stefan informed his wife that he was filing for divorce.
Barash was proud of the scenes he had just shot. Afterward, he was called to his boss’s office and told he’d be leaving the show. “I knew exactly what was happening as soon as I walked into her office,” he explained. The boss said that it wasn’t her doing or in any way a reflection of his performance.

“We know your work ethic is very high, but it’s just where we’re deciding to take the character,”
Barash was understandably disappointed, but he’s looking forward to his future.
“So this door is closing, some other door over here is gonna open, and I’m really excited to see what’s behind that other door,”
He mused. Barash can’t wait to see where his career will take him next.
The news will be a crushing blow to “Stabi” fans, who are eagerly waiting for their favorite couple to reunite.
However, Gabi Hernandez DiMera was last played by Camilla Banus before Cherie Jimenez stepped into her shoes and is one half of the supercouple, “Stabi.”
Barash said he and Jimenez were doing well together, and fans enjoyed their love story. He also thought the show was headed toward a very soapy triangle between Stefan, Gabi, and EJ. With Barash’s exit, that’s obviously not the case.
When the actor was asked whether he would consider returning to Days one day, he pointed out that this is the second time the show has unceremoniously fired him from the soap. He said while the circumstances would have to be right,
“I wouldn’t go into a marriage with a woman who I felt when the going got tough, she would just leave, and the same goes for business.”
