In a bit of a surprising move, the Dallas Cowboys have resigned quarterback Dak Prescott to a ridiculous 4-year, $160 million contract! Dallas announced today that the franchise has agreed to terms on a new deal.

The deal has a maximum value of $164 million, with $126 million guaranteed and includes a no-trade clause and no-tag provision. This deal comes after Prescott suffered a terrible season-ending injury in 2020. Many still wondered whether Prescott would even be able to play afterward.

While Prescott was on the trail of running the best offense in the NFL last year, it ended in week 5 when he broke his ankle. He was on pace of breaking the all-time single-season passing record, though, that was only 4 weeks of a 16-week schedule, and hard to judge based on the small amount of data.

With such a blockbuster deal, it appears that Prescott will be healthy enough to play this coming season. It will be interesting to see how he plays coming back from his injury and if he can step back into the pace that he was playing at the beginning of the 2020 season.

This comes as a big shock to many fans and viewers of the NFL, and comments about the deal (specifically from Dallas fans) have not been great. I’m sure Prescott is a great guy, but it’s hard to say whether or not he deserves this massive deal.

What do you think? Can Dak Prescott step up to the same level he was playing at early in the 2020 season or will that be a distant memory? Let us know in the comments below.
