Josh Duggar recently was arrested for possession of child pornography. He was placed on the official registry for sex offenders, but there are some fans that think he was on it years prior to this arrest.
In 2015, there were documents leaked that showed that he had been placed on this list when he sexually molested young girls when he was a teenager himself. He admitted to touching their breasts and genitals when he was younger and his sisters were a few of the young girls assaulted. Josh did all of these assaults while the girls were sleeping, but when his sisters came forward, all hell broke loose.
‘The Duggars’: Josh’s Priors
When Jill and Jessa Duggar came out and said that their brother assaulted them, he was put through the wringer. He claimed that he wasn’t sure what he was doing and was just being a boy. His parents and wife also supported everything he said during this time.
More women came out against him, including his other sister, Joy-Anna Duggar. The women ended up suing the city of Springdale because of an invasion of privacy when they released the records of the case publicly. The women claimed emotional distress and mental anguish.
The city of Springdale’s Department of Human Services made a statement about his time on the registry. “Joshua Duggar was placed on the sex offender registry and a legal proceeding was understand to remove Joshua Duggar from the sex offender registry. The defendants have a substantial and compelling need for the documentation in the possession of DHS. The defendants are entitled to this information and documentation due to one of the central elements of plaintiffs’ claims being public disclosure of private information.”
If the law was followed the first time that sexual molestation charges were made against Duggar, it would seem that he would still be on the sex offender registry. It appears that his lawyers do want charges dropped and they are working around the clock to do so.
We are not sure what will happen, but for now, it seems that his case is still slated for November. His legal staff has tried almost everything that they can to get him free of these charges, but no one will know exactly what will happen until it is time for his trial.
