Kate Middleton, Prince William, and their son, George, joined King Charles and Camilla at Crathie Kirk, a Scottish church on the Balmoral estate, for Sunday service on August 25th.
Charles’s brother, Prince Edward, and his wife, Sophie, were also in attendance, as was their youngest son, James, Earl of Wessex, and Princess Anne’s husband, Sir Tim Laurence.
William And Kate Have Visited Balmoral Every Year Since They Were Married
The last time the Princess of Wales and the King were seen together in public was for Trooping the Color in June. Her triumphant appearance on the balcony was inspiring.
Kate Middleton was also seen at Wimbledon last month in the men’s finals. Since then, she’s only appeared in a video with William congratulating Team Great Britain on their participation in the Paris 2024 Olympics.
She presented Carlos Alcaraz from Spain with the winning trophy. Charles and Kate share a special bond. They both revealed their cancer diagnoses to the world about a month apart from each other.
Kate announced her diagnosis in March in a brave video she shared with the public. In the video, she said she was diagnosed with cancer and was undergoing preventative treatment.
The trip is likely a refreshing change of pace for Prince William and Kate Middleton, who are enjoying their annual trip to Balmoral, the late Queen Elizabeth’s favorite summer vacation spot. The annual trip to Balmoral is a tradition for the royals.
Balmoral Castle has been the Scottish home of the royal family since 1852 when Queen Victoria purchased it for Prince Albert after their first visit to Scotland.
The Prince and Princess of Wales have visited Balmoral every year since they were married in April 2011. Since Kate announced that she was undergoing chemotherapy, she’s spent her time between Adelaide Cottage, their home in Windsor, and their holiday home in Norfolk.
Some have said that Kate’s latest appearance indicates her health is improving.
King Charles And Kate Middleton Share A Unique Bond
It is a chance for them to bask in the peacefulness and simple charms of the beautiful countryside. Kate and William enjoy long walks around the property, fishing, and barbecuing. The couple are also known for their grand bicycle rides on the grounds.
In June, Kate released an emotional message to the public, explaining she was “not out of the woods yet” and had “good days and bad days.”
“I am leaning toward patience, especially with the uncertainty,”
Kate said.
“I am taking each day as it comes, listening to my body, and allowing myself to take this much-needed time to heal. Thank you so much for your continued understanding and to all of you who have so bravely shared your stories with me.”
She also specified, at the time, that her treatment would continue for a few more months. Spending time in Balmoral with her family will be good for her.
A royal expert said,
“Charles has always had great respect for Kate.”
They were both in the hospital at the same time and would visit each other, which is unusual for royals.
They would compare notes on the hospital food and discuss their respective treatments with each other. They’ve helped each other during the fight and are staying strong.
