Kate Middleton was welcomed with applause at Wimbledon in her first royal engagement since Trooping the Color. She was given a standing ovation as she went to the Royal Box to watch the game.
Kate Looked Stunning In Purple
It’s always fun to see what Princess Catherine wears when she attends Wimbledon. Historically, she always arrives in glamorous attire. This year, like every year, she didn’t disappoint.
She looked stunning in a lovely purple dress from British brand Safiyaa. She embellished her outfit with gold hoop earrings from By Pariah and a thick gold bangle bracelet from Halycon Days. Last year, Kate attended Wimbledon three times and opted for various shades of green at each appearance.
Princess Charlotte looked equally as stylish as her mother. She sported a navy and white polka dot teen Guess dress and white leather shoes.
The Princess of Wales has stepped away from public duties since recovering from her cancer treatment. She was joined today by her daughter, Princess Charlotte, and her sister, Pippa Middleton.
At one point during the game, Kate leaned over to whisper to Charlotte with a knowing smile. She appeared to be saying, “It’s happening at the end. Djokovic is my favorite to win.”
Kate Middleton, patron of the All England Club since 2016, when Queen Elizabeth passed the baton to her, hasn’t missed the tournament since. She presented the trophy to Carlos Alcaraz, the winner of the men’s final, which was not what she expected.
Before giving the trophy to Alcaraz, she shook his opponent’s hand, Novak Djokovic. Charlotte’s facial expressions were adorable, and they ran the gamut from excited to surprised to wincing to delighted as she watched the tournament.
Kate Middleton And Princess Charlotte Met Several Female Tennis Stars
Mother and daughter met with female tennis stars, including Emma Radacanu, Sonay Kartal, Lily Miyazaki, Lucy Shukar, and Flora Johnson, as they arrived on the player’s lawn.
Charlotte was very impressed and was pictured with a huge grin on her face. Young Charlotte sparked a good conversation with Paralympic medalist Lucy Shukar, and she made her a “pinkie promise” that she would play alongside her mother.
Kate said that Charlotte was “practicing yesterday” and that tennis was “really great for the youngsters.” “As a family, we play a lot,” she explained.
Kate Middleton and Charlotte also met the “Work at Wimbledon” program, which supports young people with various backgrounds with roles at the Championships.
Other big-name celebrities in the Royal Box included Julia Roberts, Tom Cruise, Pierce Brosnan, Courtney Cox, Benedict Cumberbatch, and tennis legend Andre Agassi.
Prince William’s second cousin, Lord Frederick Windsor, Prince and Princess Michael of Kent’s son, and his wife, Sophie Winkelman, were also there. Their children attended school with George and Charlotte.
Kate usually presents the trophy to the Ladies Singles winner, but this year, she presented the award at the men’s final.
Kate’s appearance today is an encouraging sign that her cancer treatment is progressing well, and she is starting to feel better. A message she posted on her and Prince William’s X account as she watched the men’s final said,
“Great to be back at Wimbledon! There’s nothing quite like the Championships!”
