‘Bachelor in Paradise’ spoilers find that while rumors are swirling around who will wash up on the Mexican beach to appear on ABC’s Bachelor spin-off, Bachelor in Paradise, we know one famous face who will not be there.

No, not Chris Harrison, whose role is being taken over by the oddest collection of guest hosts that ever could have been selected.  Blake Horstmann has dashed fans’ hope, telling them on an Instagram Q&A that definitely won’t be joining the season 7 cast.

‘Bachelor in Paradise’ Spoilers: Blake Horstmann on Why Round 2 is ‘Not for Me’

Horstmann’s name has been on cast spoiler lists and the Bachelorette season 14 alum explained that he was “close” to committing to joining 30 other singles on the beach again this year.

“I went through some testing etc. But at the end of the day, I didn’t feel it was right for me,” wrote the 32 year old. “I am in a good place in my life. Personally, professionally and mentally.”

This is a big difference from when Horstmann joined season 6 of Bachelor In Paradise, his appearance immediately swirling with controversy.

Enjoying the popularity that came from his ‘hero’ edit on The Bachelorette, Horstmann had…let’s say “fun”…at the Stagecoach music festival just prior to heading to Mexico. It was quickly revealed on the show that he had hooked up with Caelynn Miller-Keyes and Kristina Schulman, two of his fellow BIP contestants, on back-to-back nights. Drama ensued and Horstmann fell from the golden pedestal The Bachelorette edit had placed him on.

“I didn’t want to put my life in the hands of people that don’t really have your best interest in mind. It’s like having a life coach who pushes you to do the wrong things,” Horstmann continued to explain on his Instagram answer in regards to a BIP season 7 appearance. “I decided my mental health was more important than some followers and engagement. But I absolutely do not think there is anything wrong with people who do go on the show.”

He finished his post with a definitive, “It’s just not for me.”

Bachelor in Paradise season 7 premieres, sans Blake, on August 16 on ABC.
