ABC ‘General Hospital’ (GH) spoilers indicate the mob war in Port Charles is heating up. After several coordinated attacks on Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Bernard) and those connected to him, we now know who’s trying to mess with Sonny’s business. This brings a new character to town, as well as a new person to the cast. Let’s take a look at what we know so far.
ABC ‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: The mastermind
Recently, Sonny’s people caught a guy who’d been part of the warehouse attack. After several attempts to get information out of him, Sonny left the rest to Jason Morgan (Steve Burton). As luck would have it, Jason showed up right after the guy managed to kill one of Sonny’s men. ‘General Hospital’ spoilers indicate he was too late to escape. Jason showed up right on time and a firefight ensued.
Jason got him just right. Wounded and with no chance for survival, Jason offered the man a deal. If he turned on his boss, Jason would make things fast for him. The guy apparently saw the wisdom in this, because he gave a name: Cyrus Renault (Jeff Kober). Jason’s reaction made us wonder if he’s an old character come back to do damage. ‘General Hospital’ spoilers reveal that’s not the case.
ABC ‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: Major player
As it turns out, Cyrus is new to the show, but he’s not new to Sonny. Sort of. While Sonny has had no dealings himself with Cyrus, he knows of him. This guy’s apparently known for being a big player elsewhere, and he’s got a ruthless rep. And the fact he’s locked up is apparently not stopping him at all. We also learned this week that Cyrus was recently transferred to Pentonville, which probably explains why he wants to get in on Sonny’s territory. A guy needs some business interests close, right? But what about the actor who’s playing him?
ABC ‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: About Jeff
Jeff Kober’s got a long career, with his first credited appearance on his Wikipedia page being in 1985, as part of V: The Miniseries. Since then, he’s starred in a huge list of movies and TV shows. One of the roles we know him best in is as Jacob Hale, Jr. on Sons of Anarchy. He was a businessman-turned-mayor who was determined to get rid Charming of the motorcycle club, Sons of Anarchy. He got himself mixed up with some shady characters in his quest to rule the town, including aligning himself with a supremacist group. Other shows one might know him from are The Walking Dead, Lost, and a couple of Star Trek series. Outside of acting, we see he’s also an accomplished painter, whose work was used in a project he filmed. He’s also written an art book. This multi-talented actor is sure to be an interesting addition to Port Charles. We can’t wait to see what’s next.
