As usual, poor Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell) is stuck having to deal with the consequences of getting mixed up with Nelle Benson (Chloe Lanier). As they fight over their first big parenting issue, we can’t help but wonder about motive. And whether Michael just messed up. Here’s what you need to know.

So, this week we learned Wiley is suffering some issues from the heart condition he shares with Michael. Michael had to rush the toddler to GH for help, where Monica Quartermaine (Leslie Charleson) recommended he undergo surgery. It’s the same thing Michael went through around Wiley’s age, but there was a problem. As much as he wants to help Wiley, his hands are tied.

It seems ‘General Hospital’ spoilers say Nelle needs to be on board as well. This is still considered elective, and both parents would have to sign off on it. As soon as Nelle Benson (Chloe Lanier) got there, she started trouble. She almost seemed to blame Michael for Wiley’s problem, and then she outright refused to sign off on the procedure. No matter what Michael or Monica said, she kept going back to the same thing: it’s elective. She’d rather not put a toddler under the knife. However, we’re not so sure her motives are about her fears for Wiley’s safety under anesthesia.

Let’s just take a look at Nelle’s record so far. She didn’t care one bit about separating Wiley from his true father. General Hospital spoilers reveal she tried to kill said father, plus she’s been willing to haul Wiley off to parts unknown and give him a life on the run. Everything she’s doing makes us feel like her concern for Wiley is secondary here. She views Wiley as her property, and Michael as the enemy. We have a feeling that no matter what the situation would have been, her answer would always be the opposite of what Michael wants, regardless of what is best for Wiley. She’s just trying to hurt Michael, as well as set herself up as the terrified mother who doesn’t want to risk her baby’s well-being. Again, just to take Wiley away from Michael. And Michael might have just given her a little ammunition.
ABC ‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: Fuel for her fire?
During the discussion things got heated. Michael really lost it at one point, and said once the custody was settled, she wouldn’t have a choice here. His fit might be exactly the kind of thing Nelle wants for that court hearing, showing how Michael is reactionary and pushy. He really needs to be careful from here on out, no matter what the situation. She’s totally baiting him with this. Sasha jumping into the mix didn’t help, either.
All we can say is, we hope that Michael does find a way to win. We only see bad things in Wiley’s future with Nelle as the winner here. He’ll be more an accessary for her. Something to stroke her ego, and she’ll likely use her passive aggressive, manipulative ways to control that poor kid most of his life. And that’s not only a risk to Wiley’s metal health, but his heart, too.
