ABC ‘General Hospital’ (GH) spoilers indicate that while the cast and crew have only been back at the studios in what seems like just one hot second, the hit ABC soap has already announced that new episodes will debut sooner rather than previously thought. Here’s what you need to know.
According to Deadline, the executive producers of the long-running soap have revealed that new episodes will air by August 3. ‘General Hospital’ resumed production this past week. Right now, the Port Charles drama’s most recent episodes are being aired again in order to allow fans to catch up with all of the most recent storylines.
ABC ‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: New Episodes Airing Soon – Fasted Turnaround Time Ever In Daytime Soaps?
As many fans can recall, General Hospital was the first major daytime television show to suspend production back in mid-March because of the coronavirus pandemic. After they made their announcement, more and more film and television series announced that they would be shutting down production as well. ‘Bold and the Beautiful’ was the first daytime television drama to return to the studios back in mid-June and have been airing new episodes this week.
While it has been presumed that The Young and the Restless’ cast and crew have also gone back to work (with actor Eric Braeden sharing behind the scenes photos on his social media accounts), the CBS network has not made any comments about when new Y&R episodes will air.
Days of Our Lives, meanwhile, announced that they will be returning to the studios by September 1st. They are the only soap to have had enough new material to last them through the current pandemic and until later this fall.
