It’s safe to say that 2019 wasn’t the best year on record for Julian Jerome. Kim Nero (Tamara Brawn) left him and his own son Lucas Jones (Ryan Carnes) refused to speak with him. He kept a huge lie that almost ended in devastation. Because Julian’s relationship with his son will never be the same, this has forced him to take a step back to re-evaluate a few things in his life. And interestingly enough, he doesn’t like what he sees in himself.

‘General Hospital’ co-head writer Dan O’Connor explains it like this to Soaps in Depth in a new interview, “The reformed mobster’s latest actions may just prove that he is the man that people thought he was all along.” Strangely enough, Alexis Davis (Nancy Lee Grahn) will find herself feeling rather sorry for Julian, without realizing that he’s basically done all of this himself. In other words, this is his undoing. But with that said, there might still be a little spark left between them. O’Connor adds, “These two are people who will always share a connection. They will always have a place in each other’s lives. How big of a place that is remains to be seen.”
