ABC ‘General Hospital’ (GH) spoilers reveal Jordan Ashford (Brianna Nicole Henry) said goodbye to her as she prepared to get treatment in Albany. However, there was more going on to this than just a story. Let’s take a look.
ABC ‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: Goodbye
It seems that send-off wasn’t temporary. On September 14th, Henry posted a message to her Instagram account, accompanied by photos from her time on the show, including her last episode.
Said the actress, “I suppose it is that time isn’t it. As I celebrated my third year of being on ‘General Hospital’ yesterday, I also watched my last episode as Jordan Ashford air. People kept asking me how it felt to have ended my time on the show, and it wasn’t until yesterday that it really sank in, as I watched Jordan’s goodbye to her family and knew the tears you saw were real tears between not just colleagues but friends. I decided it was time for me to move on from @generalhospitalabc and I got nothing but love and support from everyone involved. Not to mention was given the most beautiful send of that left me quite literally shaken.”
The actress then went on to give some shout outs and reflect on her growth on the show. Check out the post for her full statement. We have to say, we were surprised. We hadn’t seen or heard any talk about the actress leaving the series, so we’d just assumed the Albany trip was to accommodate a vacation or something. It didn’t take long for the comments to come.
ABC ‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: Sending love
As of the writing of this article, it had been eight hours since her statement and over 4,000 fans and co-stars had hearted her post. Her co-stars were also quick to join in with comments to the actress.
Her TV son, Tahj Bellow (TJ Ashford) wrote, “I’m so incredibly proud of you friend. You are SO LOVED! Your spirit and authenticity are one of a kind, and your ability to dig deep and find oceans of emotional depth is truly a wonder! Truly blessed to have such awesome experiences with you.”
Donnell Turner (Curtis Ashford) also replied, saying, “Bri, Thank You for your love, energy, talent, commitment, perseverance, professionalism, and for just being You. I cannot thank you enough for bravely stepping into our lives, suffering the slings and arrows, yet always managing to smile, show up and show out. You are a great example for anyone (not just actors) and no one will miss you more than your Curtis and of course me. We created a Family and something special; I have nothing but great respect for you allowing that. I am sad but Happy for this next chapter in your life. I have no doubt you will continue to thrive with whatever and wherever the universe leads you next. Much love, appreciation, and respect. P.S I still think about and feel TERRIBLE about that stage door incident. You we’re gracious and lovely in that moment as well.”
ABC ‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: Our take
Again, we were pretty surprised to see she wasn’t sticking with the show. We hadn’t seen any ‘General Hospital’ spoilers indicating the character was being written out, or that the actress had wanted to move on. But that’s apparently the case, and this was not a send-off we feel was worthy of a goodbye to a character. So, while it had some touching moments for Henry with Turner and Bellow, we do think someone else will be coming along to fill Jordan’s shoes sooner, rather than later. There is still a lot to deal with, when you think about it. The divorce papers that never went through, Portia Robinson’s (Brook Kerr) confession, and let’s not forget Jordan is Commissioner. We just think there’s a lot left for the character and we’re looking forward to seeing who steps up to the challenge.
We’d also like to congratulate Henry on her run as Jordan and wish her well in the future. We’re sure there are plenty of other projects ahead.
