Now, Britt Westbourne (Kelly Thiebaud) is well-aware of her brother’s darker side, and that he risked her career for a scoop. Let’s take a look at how bad things have gotten, and why we think Peter will resort to a desperate move.

First, General Hospital spoilers reveal there have been several times where Peter could have been busted. Several people were a direct threat to his secret, but he managed to get rid of them.
Also working in his favor was the willful ignorance of Anna Devane (Finola Hughes). She’s wanted so badly to believe in him, that she kept the truth about his real mother, Alex Marrick (Hughes) secret. She even took care of evidence against him. But things are getting more complex.

It seems that all the threats are taking their toll. Peter is slowly dropping his mask around people as he finds more obstacles to his happiness. The latest was Britt. He put her into a bad position when he stole Franco Baldwin’s (Roger Howarth) medical records.
And when she called him on it, Peter got aggressive with her. Since them, Britt has been looking at him as no better than their gather. She’s just been reluctant to say the truth to Maxie Jones (Kirsten Storms) so far. That’s not all, though.
General Hospital spoilers reveal Anna and Valentin Cassadine (James Patrick Stuart) have been talking this thing over. This past week, they learned about the voice in Franco’s head, leading Valentin to conclude Peter lied to them. Apparently that, put together with Liesl Obreacht’s (Kathleen Gati) location now classified stirred doubts.
When Valentin asked if she was willing to see this through wherever it lands, she agreed. This is a huge shift in her perspective and we think it’s just a case of one too many signs. But Anna has, up to now, been Peter’s biggest supporter. So, what could this mean?

It’s clear this thing is getting to the climax. And these shifts are going to be bad news for Peter. If Anna’s doubts become known to Peter, that could be a huge blow for him. As bad as he’s been, he still holds on to being Anna’s son. She believes in him and has good in her, so he must as well. And he believes his salvation is in this new happy life with Maxie.
Last week, he sounded almost unhinged about Maxie and the baby. So, if we’re right and it’s all about to crash down around him, we see one course of action. We think Peter might be desperate enough to take Maxie as a hostage and run. While he could still surprise us, it seems like the only option he’ll have if he wants to hold on to the fantasy.
Of course, that will be devastating to Maxie, especially when she learns the whole truth. We see a lot of misery in her future, and we’re torn. She’s been so pushy about Peter’s goodness, and she refused to see any signs. So, it’s almost a karma situation if things go as badly as we think. We believe her best hope for healing will be in Anna, who’ll be feeling the same disappointment and hurt.
We see her taking on a motherly role with Maxie as she helps her pick up the pieces. As hard as it will be for Anna, she’s also had all those signs we mentioned. So, the whole truth should be less of a shock for her. Either way, we’re looking forward to seeing this story finally wind down.
