‘General Hospital’ (GH) spoilers indicate Peter August (Wes Ramsey) has had a long road of secrets and scrambling to cover tracks. Over time, there were a couple of hints the game was over. However, it looks like we might just be near the end. For real, this time. Let’s take a look at what happened and what it might mean.

    ‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: Bad choice

First, ‘General Hospital’ spoilers reveal Peter was his own worst enemy in this whole saga. Everyone already knows he has a shady past. Would it have really been that damaging to tell the full truth of everything he did? Maxie Jones (Kirsten Storms) already, knowing some of it, didn’t pull away. If anything, she’s gotten closer to him the more he swears he’s a changed man.

If he’d just come clean a long time ago, Maxie might have forgiven him. After the multiple crimes he’s committed to cover up past sins? There’s no chance.  It’s about integrity. And his sins coming to light shows Maxie he doesn’t truly have any. No matter how much he might want to be good.

‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: Not the mama

Recently, though, we did get just a tiny smidge of sympathy for the guy. When he, Alexandra “Alex” Marick (Finola Hughes), and Maxie got together last week, he though it was Anna Devane (Hughes).

These moments with her, and the ones just before Alex took over Anna’s life, showed how important Anna is to him. He sees her being his mother as a saving grace. Proof there’s good in him. Plus, he’s also made it clear Maxie is his motivation for the good boy life. But this is just not enough.

Peter’s falling into the trap a lot of fictional characters have in the past. He’s not changing his ways for his own good. Because it’s right, and he wants that for himself. In his mind, it’s about being a good man for Maxie.

Because he’s Anna’s son. And the real Peter is nowhere to be found. Well, except in moments like that confrontation with Damian Spinelli (Bradford Anderson).

    ‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: What’s next?

That leads us to a huge mess. Now, this twin switch thing has been a bit disappointing. “Anna” was busted almost immediately. She’s about to face off with Anna on Monday. That’s a pretty fast resolution—unless they have her make another escape. But we think Alex trading places wasn’t the point of this story.

It’s about Peter. We think Anna would have found an excuse to back out of telling Peter the truth about his mother. With Alex harming Hamilton Finn (Michael Easton) and taking Maxie hostage—plus the warehouse thing—there’s no choice now.

Peter will know he hasn’t got that “good” parent to balance out the evil of the other. We have a feeling this will be such a massive shock, Peter will go into crisis.

He might even lose it enough to confess to everything, lamenting how he did all that for nothing. Because his real mother is a monster like his dad. That will lead to devastation for Maxie, Anna, and some difficult situations for those who’ve tried to warn them.
