ABC ‘General Hospital’ (GH) spoilers indicate that Nurses Ball 2020 is going to be one like no other. And that’s not because the ongoing global pandemic that has been the coronavirus is forcing people to keep their distance from one another, but also because there will be several more changes made from behind the scenes. Here’s what you need to know.
In a new interview with TV Insider, ‘General Hospital’ executive producer Frank Valentini says that thankfully, fans and viewers won’t see that many changes to the one-a-year festivities. While there will be a lot of familiar faces and fan favorites, one thing that fans won’t see is one big production number that usually happens each year.

Big performances were just one of few changes and adjustments Frank Valentini had to make this year in compliance with the new CDC and social media guidelines but forth in order to make sure that everyone remains safe from Covid-19.
When asked if fans will be getting the same kind of Josh Swickard (Chase) performances that we saw last year, Valentini said, “You’ll have to wait and see. I can’t tease that, but I can say that there are a couple of new faces to the ball [this year]. As always, we try to mix it up. As people are in different places in their lives, it may not make as much sense for them to be singing and dancing. But other people have picked up the mantel.”
With that said, Valentini did hint that while there won’t be a huge coronavirus storyline on the show, it will be subtly referenced during the Nurses Ball. He said, “I think what we’re trying to concentrate on with the Nurses Ball is what the Nurses Ball has always provided everyone with – some fun, a little bit of action/adventure, and some romance. There is a nod to what we’re all struggling with. You’ll see how it’s all laid out.”
