ABC ‘General Hospital’ (GH) spoilers indicate that Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright) might need to take a step back. Every day, she’s becoming more and more like a certain other character. One who constantly made everything her business and wouldn’t listen. Eventually, this character faced a big downfall and Carly might be heading in the same direction. Here’s what you need to know.
ABC ‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: Who Is She?
The character we’re talking about is Gemma Teller (Katey Sagal) from Sons of Anarchy. We’ll warn you right now, this article has spoilers for that show. So read with caution if you haven’t watched the show yet, but want to see it unspoiled. Anyway, Gemma was the wife of biker Clay Morrow (Ron Perlman), and essentially the queen of the motorcycle club. Interestingly enough, we have a former Sons actor playing Cyrus Renault (Jeff Kober), a guy making things tough for Carly’s husband, Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Bernard). But the connection between these shows goes beyond an actor. See, Gemma began to get too big for her role. In the Sons world, the men were the true bosses. Sure, they showed Gemma respect as their president’s wife. They even genuinely looked at her as a mother figure. She just had a bad habit.
ABC ‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: Carly To Push Too Far?
Often, Gemma would overstep her bounds. When Clay asked her not to start fires when her son, Jax Teller (Ron Perlman) discovered a manifesto his father, who Gemma gave her blessing to kill, where he detailed all the ways the club’s gone astray from his original vision for it. As one of the founding nine, and the leader of the charter Clay now controls, he had the most weight of anyone. She did it because she agreed with the direction Clay wanted. Instead of listening to Clay, she pushed things and ended up getting Jax more determined than ever to learn more about this vision his father had.
Also, she constantly interfered in his love life. Often, she’d threaten women she didn’t want Jax with or try to twist them to her way of thinking. Her pushy nature and inability to handle Jax not being right there by her side led to a tragedy. One she and another club member covered up, leading to a massive war between the Sons and several groups. That eventually led to her death.

We think a lot of this had to do with Gemma being very comfortable with her current situation and not wanting things disrupted. She also had an almost obsessive need to protect/control her only surviving son. We’re seeing a very similar pattern taking shape. Will it lead to something almost as bad?

Recently, Carly and Sonny had a discussion about what to do with Nelle Benson (Chloe Lanier), who stole Michael Corinthos’ (Chad Duell) son. Sonny took a calm approach. As Carly argued for “dealing with” Nelle, Sonny told her to butt out. General Hospital spoilers indicate he thinks it’s Michael’s life, Michael’s ex, and he is the one who lost time with his son. Whatever comes next has to be his call. He’s right. Michael’s a grown man, and capable of handling things himself. But Carly won’t be satisfied with that.
Both the previews for the Tuesday, February 25th episode and the weekly promo show her confronting Nelle in prison. Actually, more like threatening her. ‘General Hospital’ spoilers indicate she’s in direct violation of Sonny’s wishes, and it’s not the first time. She also caused havoc when she went behind Sonny’s back to get Dev Cerci (Ashton Arbab) in a boarding school. We think, much like Gemma, she’s not realizing how the world she’s in works. She’s a grown woman and obviously has her own mind. However, she’s married to a mob boss. You can’t just go against everything they say that you disagree with. The confusion and trouble she started with the Dev thing should have been a lesson in that. Outright threatening Nelle in prison is not only a risky move that could put Sonny more on the radar than he already is, but it’s a betrayal of Michael. He’s not involved in Sonny’s business and he deals with his problems in a different way. We’re not sure Michael will approve of her threats. If Carly keeps throwing her weight around like this and going against advice, she could inadvertently start a bigger problem. And she’ll only have herself to blame.
