ABC ‘General Hospital’ (GH) spoilers finds that star Brook Kerr (Portia Robinson) says that she’s got nothing but love and respect for actress Maura West, who is best known for her role as Ava Jerome on the hit ABC soap. That’s because Maura has an exceptional way of playing a complicated character like Ava but somehow also brings out the best in her. Here’s what Brook has to say!
Speaking to Soap Opera Digest in a new interview, the beautiful and talented actress has nothing but positive things to say about Maura. Brook said, “She’s pretty epic. She is so strong. When I first heard about all the things her character has done in the past, I was like, ‘Oh… okay!’ But she has this wonderful way of playing the character where we’re on her side, you know? There are reasons why my character does not want her character around Portia’s daughter, which I understand for my character, but she just has this way of making Ava human, and that’s such a beautiful quality to have as an actor.”

With that said, Brook said that there aren’t many actresses like Maura West around that can make viewers actually root for the villain of a show, which she is. There’s just something about Ava that says we should hate her but we can’t help but want the best for her, right?
Brook added, “Even though Ava has done awful things, the way she goes about things makes me want to forgive her and I have to keep reminding myself, ‘No, no, Portia, doesn’t feel that way.’ I love working with her because she makes me feel for her. It’s a real talent to be able to play someone so sinister and still make you like her.”
