ABC ‘General Hospital’ (GH) spoilers say that love and understanding begin at home. That’s probably one of the reasons why ‘General Hospital’ star Kirsten Storms (Maxie Jones) is doing what she can to have an open, honest discussion with her daughter about the George Floyd protests and Black Lives Matter movement that is sweeping the country. Here’s what she has to say.
Sharing an adorable photo of her and her daughter Harper (dad is ‘Days of Our Lives’ star Brandon Barash), Kirsten wrote, “Parents out there with little ones: Talking to your children about what is happening in this country is not only necessary, it’s VITAL. Brandon ordered these 2 books (swipe to see them, both are available on Amazon), which the 3 of us read together. We answered all 500 questions she asked along the way and then we talked. We talked about the messages we took away from these stories and how they made us feel. We talked about racism (past and present), privilege, and what it means to have equality.”

ABC ‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: Star Kirsten Storms Gives Parental Advice On How To Talk About Black Lives Matter
The daytime beauty added, “We read Harper a LOT of books and have decided that stories like these 2 will be in the permanent rotation moving forward. We want our daughter to not only be educated on the history of black men and women but also to grow up KNOWING without a fraction of a doubt that racism is wrong. Books are a good conversation starter with kids, so if you’re looking for a way to begin this discussion with your child, I 100% recommend reading them stories like these. If they can feel love and anger – they are not too young to talk about it. Let’s do our part to ensure their generation makes a difference.”
Of course, it didn’t take long for Kirsten’s fans to respond to her post at all. Many comments included, “If you’re looking for any more books, we just ordered Not My Idea by Anastasia Higgenbotham. It discusses white privilege and the complicity of white people in systemic injustice. And, if the few pages I’ve read so far are any indication, it does it in a way children can understand. It’s so important to start these conversations early and have them often.” Another fan wrote, “We read “Sit-in: How four friends stood up by sitting down” with our kids when they were younger. It’s about the Greensboro Four and their sit-in at the Woolworth’s lunch counter in 1960. The Woolworth’s building is now the site of the international civil rights center and museum.”
