ABC ‘General Hospital’ (GH) spoilers indicate Brad Cooper (Parry Shen) might yet be redeemed. After having a shady past that led to issues for him and Lucas Jones (Ryan Carnes), he had promised to do better. He lied. Circumstances led him to a situation that basically destroyed his marriage and damaged the family he married into. But recent events show he might have learned something.

Okay, we have to put a disclaimer. The final push was likely the visit from Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Bernard). A guy like him gets in your face and makes demands, you tend to listen. At least, if you have any survival instinct whatsoever. Turns out, Brad is smarter than he’s appeared over the past few years.
When he stepped into the courtroom, he plead guilty as Sonny instructed. This infuriated Scott Baldwin (Kin Shriner), but Brad refused to back down. Not even the judge pointing out the ramifications of this was enough to stop him from doing as told. On the surface, it looks like a self-preservation thing. But we think it had a lot more behind it.

Later, Brad had a heartfelt talk with Lucas and he kept his mouth shut about why he plead guilty. He also made it clear that he didn’t act alone. He insisted Nelle Benson (Chloe Lanier) was behind it, and we think that was the right thing to do. In a way, it’s sharing blame, but we also think that he’s genuinely trying to help Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell) and the rest by being honest.
Also, ‘General Hospital’ spoilers reveal he kept his mouth shut about Julian Jerome (William deVry). That was another right move, in our opinion. First off, he wasn’t totally honest with Julian when he got mixed up in the baby swap situation. Thereby, putting Julian at serious risk if the truth came out. He also admitted how much he hurt Lucas, and how much Lucas lost. He didn’t want to be the reason Lucas loses his father, too. It shows a selfless side that we think is long overdue. So, what did actually inspire this turnaround?

Basically, we think the full impact of what he did finally settled with him. ‘General Hospital’ spoilers indicate this swap started with good intent, but was not sustainable. Brad finally faced up to that and, with nothing to lose, got some clarity in how wrong his actions really were. He was finally in a place where he had no choice but to be completely honest with himself about what he’d done, and the consequences. We’re glad to see he’s owned up to it. We’re also glad this brought some self-awareness as to his ability to pull of something like this, and how much he did mess up.
While we don’t see any way back to Lucas—at least for a very long time—we do see a new side to this shady, high-strung schemer. One that we like, and we think shows he can come back from this.
