Fans are heavily speculating that Portia will tamper with the paternity test results, despite her promise that she would never repeat that aspect of her history.
Of course, since this is a soap, there is always a chance she could change her mind and alter the test to achieve whatever outcome she wants. Let’s speculate on what that might be.
Some fans think she’ll fudge the results to make Isaiah Gannon (Sawandi Wilson) the father of her child, while others have money on Portia lying to claim that Curtis Ashford (Donnell Turner) is the father.
On the one hand, her relationship with Isaiah is light and uncomplicated. They share a spark and have fun together.
Her bond with Isaish is also growing, and Portia seems genuinely happy with him. Plus, Isaiah seems to be less controlling in Portia’s eyes.
Isaiah isn’t demanding that Porita take the paternity test before she’s ready, but Curtis has been. Plus, Curtis has made it clear that he’s still in love with Jordan Ashford (Tanisha Harper).
Portia and Curtis’s marriage crumbled due to Portia’s numerous lies and jealousy over Curtis’s lingering feelings for Jordan.
She kept Trina Robinson (Tabyana Ali) from Curtis for decades. However, Portia’s insistence that she would never lie like that again seemed sincere.

That said, her motivation for tampering with Heather Webber’s (Alley Mills) test results was to protect her daughter from someone whom she believed to be very dangerous. Heather murdered people and also tried to attack Trina.
Trina fully understood why her mom altered Heather’s test results, but she is livid with Portia for lying to her father and having an affair with Isaiah.
Portia likely doesn’t want to do anything that would further disappoint Trina or lose more of her daughter’s respect. On the other hand, since there is so much distance between Portia and Trina, she may deduce that this baby could potentially reunite her family.
She may feel that Trina will only accept her if she and Curtis work through their issues and raise this baby together as a family. Somehow, we have an inkling that Portia’s bundle of joy belongs to Isaiah.
Portia may believe that her child is the key to receiving Trina’s forgiveness, which she wants more than anything right now.
Portia has historically manipulated and controlled situations to keep her family together. While it appears that she’s falling for Isaiah, she could easily turn back to her calculated ways.
However, Portia has been uncharacteristically honest and apologetic, but she isn’t sorry for protecting her daughter. Portia may surprise us and take the high road, opting to be truthful about who the father of her baby is rather than using her position as a doctor to her advantage.
