Days of Our Lives spoilers suggest that Gabi Hernandez (Cherie Jimenez) should proceed with caution. She may catch feelings for her mark, Phillip Kiriakis (John Paul Lavoisier).
‘Days Of Our Lives’ Spoilers: Gabi Will Fall For Phillip
Spoilers indicate that that’s exactly what will happen. Gabi will fall for Phillip in a way she never expected, and that could interfere with her plans with Tony DiMera (Thaao Penghlis).
Gabi and Phillip recently had dinner at the Bistro. It’s the same place where Gabi and Xander Kiriakis (Paul Telfer) were “kicked out like a couple of losers.”
Then, Gabi worked her charm and seductive magic, and she and Phillip hit the sheets. Unfortunately, we feel like the pair had zero chemistry, and their scenes together were awkward.
We think the writers have horrendously mismatched Gabi with her romantic partners since Stefan DiMera (Brandon Barash) was forced out of town and shipped to Almannia.
Stefan and Gabi truly belonged together. They had heat, fire, and passion. Gabi’s love interests since he left were disappointing, mediocre, and lukewarm at best.
Gabi and JJ Deveraux (Casey Moss) weren’t a good fit. Gabi and Xander wouldn’t work because he’ll always love Sarah Horton Kiriakis (Linsey Godfrey).
Now, she’s being paired with goofy Phillip. Gabi is a sultry, fiery, and beautiful woman. She needs someone who can match her intensity.
Phillip doesn’t cut it. We understand that, for storyline purposes, she’s supposed to distract the feuding Kiriakis brothers with her and Tony’s honey pot scheme to reclaim DiMera.

However, she and Phillip don’t exactly crackle on screen. We think the writers may have messed up and mismatched couples.
Phillip and Belle Black (Martha Madison) seem as if they should be together. EJ DiMera (Dan Feuerriegel) and Belle didn’t set our screens on fire. Yet, the soap definitely spent a lot of time shipping that couple.
That said, the writers missed a major opportunity between Gabi and EJ. Last year, they engaged in a bedroom romp so that Gabi could get revenge on Stefan for cheating with Ava Vitali (Tamara Braun).
From what we saw, that pairing could work. EJ and Gabi had a sizzling hook up, and they both have similar personalities.
Their one-night stand helped us realize something completely unexpected. The two of them had explosive and surprising chemistry.
EJ even saved Gabi’s life when psycho Connie Viniski (Julie Dove) bombed the DiMera tunnels. Yet, we were duped into believing the writers would pair them together.
They didn’t turn a corner or put the past behind them. Instead, Gabi went right back to detesting EJ’s guts with a vengeance, and the two of them went right back to being enemies.

It seemed strange to us that the writers would set up that whole scenario only for them to go back to square one. What was even the point of the writers teasing that these two seemingly kindred spirits might end up together?
Now, it seems the best choice that Days could make is to bring back Stefan for Gabi. While we enjoy Gabi’s scenes with Tony as well as this juicy DiMera takeover storyline for Gabi, we can’t really endorse the odd pairing of Gabi with Phillip.
Can we all just admit that Stefan and Gabi are endgame? The next best option is to give EJ and Gabi a try.
Alas, spoilers reveal that Gabi and Phillip’s romantic liaisons will continue. They will soon indulge in some office passion. This will no doubt lead to the pairing no one asked for.
The main issue here is that Days films several months in advance to cut costs. There is no way of knowing what’s working and what’s not until the stories have already played out. Gabi and Phillip simply don’t work.
We can only hope that the writers don’t make the mistake of keeping Gabi and Phillip together for the long haul. Stefan and Gabi they are not.
Additionally, we never really understood why Days let go of Brandon Barash. We could really use a super couple like Stefan and Gabi right about now.
