August 8th is Princess Beatrice’s birthday. The royal family celebrates King Charles’s niece’s 37th birthday today.

This Year Is Beatrice’s First Birthday Since Welcoming Her New Baby Girl, Athena

It’s her first birthday since welcoming her new baby girl, Athena Elizabeth Rose, who was born prematurely. The milestone holds a special significance for Beatrice.

Born in 1988, Princess Beatrice was almost named Anabel by her parents, Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson. However, Queen Elizabeth II stepped in and convinced them to choose another name.

The late Queen remarked that the moniker, Princess Anabel, was “too yuppie.” Since the monarch was the one who approved royal names, Anabel was discredited.

The names Charlotte and Victoria were also being considered. However, the Queen suggested the name Beatrice, which was the name of Queen Victoria’s youngest child.

The royals typically don’t shy away from making birthday tributes. Beatrice’s mother, Sarah Ferguson, shared an emotional message on Instagram to mark her daughter’s 37th birthday.

“Happy Birthday to my darling Beatrice. There’s nothing quite like holding you in my arms and feeling the incredible bond we’ve shared since the day you were born.”

    The Duchess of York continued,

“You continue to inspire me every single day with your strength, your kindness, and the beautiful way you love and care for your family.”

    She added,

“Moments like this will never get old, and I cherish them more than words can say. The hugs, the laughter, the quiet understanding between us,”

    She beamed.

“You make me so proud to be your mum, and I feel endlessly grateful for the woman you’ve become.”

Beatrice Is A Patron Of Helen Arkell Dyslexia

Meanwhile, Beatrice’s husband, Edwardo Mapelli Mozzi, also paid a sweet tribute to his wife, “Happy Birthday to my beautiful wife. You are the greatest. We love you so much. E,W,S,A, xxxx.”

Mapelli Mozzi’s signature was accompanied by the initials of the couple’s three children. They include Beatrice’s stepson, Wolfie, Woolf, whom her husband welcomed in a prior relationship, her daughter Sienna, who was born in 2021, and now Athena this past January.

Beatrice’s sister, Eugenie, also shared a carousel on Instagram in honor of this milestone. Eugenie wrote,

“Happy Happy Birthday to my dearest Beaba. My big sissy. The best in the entire world.”

Princess Beatrice has been an avid champion of the causes closest to her heart. While she’s not a working royal, she’s still active in several worthy charities.

A cause that Beatrice truly believes in is speaking out about dyslexia, which is a condition she’s had an impact on her throughout her life. She was diagnosed with it at age seven. S had difficulty with reading and spelling. She had to learn ways to cope that worked for her.

She’s a patron of the Helen Arkell Dyslexia charity. The Princess also educates people about learning disability. Beatrice even described her dyslexia as a gift and supports and advocates for children who have the disability.

King Charles and Queen Camilla are close with Beatrice and her sister, Eugenie. Beatrice is a well-respected member of the royal family.

She’s stepped up to help the King since he’s been diagnosed with cancer. Beatrice’s ability and motivation to fill in the blanks have been a massive and invaluable asset to the monarchy.
