‘General Hospital’ (GH) spoilers reveal that no one is more passionate and committed than a soap fan. As soon as word that Kelly Monaco was out at GH, fans scrambled to fight back. A petition was created to try to persuade the powers that be to rehire the actress.
‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: A Billboard Was Put Up In Times Square
As if Kelly’s departure as Sam McCall wasn’t enough of a sting for the viewers, the beloved heroine is set to be killed off. It’s as if ABC wanted to sever ties with Kelly and Sam completely.
A billboard was put up in New York City’s Times Square on September 20th. The billboard is located in Father Duffy Square, between West 46th and West 47th streets on 7th Avenue, an iconic tourist attraction.
The eye-catching red billboard exclaims, “I Stand With Kelly,” the campaign to get the soap actress rehired. Over 15,000 fans have signed the petition on change.org.
The passionate group of fans posted a link to the live stream on social media where the billboard can be seen. “NYC is a huge tourist destination where ABC has its studios. We are hoping for more eyes on the petition with all the foot traffic. We will be sending General Hospital and ABC photos of the billboard, too, showing how widespread our message is,” they said.
So far, there is no word on whether the petition or the billboard has done anything to convince ABC and GH to reconsider the character’s demise, but it never hurts to try.
JaSam fans celebrate the 13th anniversary of Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) and Sam’s wedding. On September 22nd, 2011, the couple was wed in the most unique way imaginable.
‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: JaSam’s Wedding Was Anything But Typical
Jason proposed using a lugnut instead of a sparkly ring. They were later pronounced husband and wife at Noodle Buddha, their favorite Chinese restaurant in Port Charles’s Asian Quarter.
Sam had felt pressured to have a big, lavish ceremony, but she didn’t want the whole shebang. Sensing that his bride-to-be was overwhelmed by the stress of planning a stereotypical grand wedding, he whisked her off on his motorcycle, and they ended up at Noodle Buddha.
The restaurant was closed, but the owners allowed them to come inside. One of the owners found the couple charming and gave them some food. After sharing their wedding woes, the owner exclaimed that he was an ordained minister. The couple were married at the restaurant.
Earlier that day, Edward Quartermaine (John Ingle) gave Jason his late grandmother, Lila Quartermaine‘s (Anna Lee) ring to give to Sam. Monica Quartermaine (Leslie Charleson) gave Sam the late Alan Quartermaine’s ring to give to Jason.
They exchanged the rings during the ceremony, which perfectly defined who they were as a couple. Outside in the restaurant’s garden, Jason was standing under the dragon, and Sam was standing under the phoenix. These two ancient symbols hold considerable significance in Chinese weddings. The dragon denotes the emperor, and the phoenix signifies the empress.
JaSam fans are diehards who will never forget this wedding. It was the best way to celebrate Jason and Sam’s love and unwavering devotion to each other—”a love that just is.”
