‘Days of Our Lives’ (DOOL) spoilers suggest that Kelly Monaco has the right look to be a long-lost DiMera, as General Hospital’s loss could be Days of Our Lives’ gain.
‘Days Of Our Lives’ Spoilers: Monaco Could Play A Not-So-Dead Arianna Hernandez
Monaco played Sam McCall for over twenty years on GH. The powers that be have decided to let her go unceremoniously and her character is marked for death sometime this fall.
Kelly has been underused and sidelined on GH for years. She should be on a show that appreciates her talent and gives her a juicy story to play.
Social media is buzzing with what other soap roles would best suit Monaco, and many Days Of Our Lives fans have their own ideas.
Some have said she’s perfect as Arianna Hernandez, who Lindsey Hartley ironically played. Hartley was a sub for Monaco as she played Sam McCall on GH whenever Monaco was absent.
Arianna is Hernandez’s (Cherie Jimenez) and Rafe Herandez’s (Galen Gering) sister. She was hit by a car and killed, but since this is a soap, she may not be dead.
Another idea is to make her a new character and pair her with Brady Black (Eric Martsolf), as many think they would have incredible chemistry. Brady was recently involved with Fiona Cook (Serena Scott Thomas), and most fans aren’t feeling it.
Many have also mentioned that Kelly and Greg Vaughn, who played Lucky Spencer on GH, would be a good fit. Some have suggested pairing her with EJ DiMera (Dan Feuerriegel)
However, a new character may not be ideal, as fans often don’t respond favorably to random new characters. Most viewers like to see characters connected to core families on their soaps.
‘Days Of Our Lives’ Spoilers: Stefano Mentioned A Daughter In The 80s, Who Was Never Seen On-Screen
One idea that wasn’t mentioned but that would have an impact is for her to be a long-lost DiMera. Monaco’s Sam is spirited and fiery, and when she first came on GH, she was also a bit naughty.
These are all classic DiMera traits. We could see her as a long-lost sister of EJ and Stefano DiMera‘s (Joesph Mascolo) illegitimate daughter.
Another possibility is that she could blow into town as Vanessa DiMera, Stefano’s daughter, but she was never seen on-screen or mentioned after the 80s.
Around 1982, when Stefano first appeared on Days, he mentioned having a daughter named Vanessa, whom he hadn’t seen in years. Monaco could come in and fill those shoes. The timeline would be close enough to work.
She could come to Salem to stake her claim to the DiMera fortune. It’s very believable. Or, as plausible as a soap can get. Stefano sowed his seed worldwide and has at least nine biological children.
It would be fun to see Monaco suddenly appear in Salem with ruthless ambition to take her share of the DiMera money and then some.
She could spice things up, and if she got to play her character similar to Sam’s when she first arrived in Port Charles, it would be gold.
We could see her sharing scenes with Kristen DiMera (Stacey Haiduk) and Stefan DiMera (Brandon Barash). Going up against the DiMeras would be a challenge. As long as the story is well-written, it could be compelling.
No matter what, Days might see a spike in ratings if they added Kelly Monaco to their cast. Her fans will follow her if she decides to play on another soap.
