Kate Middleton knew that Meghan Markle was the catalyst that caused the ongoing feud between Prince Harry and Prince William. Harry and Meghan started a romance in 2016.
Prince William And Kate Middleton Started To See Meghan’s True Colors
At first, William and his wife, Kate Middleton, are impressed that Harry has landed such a “catch.” They were both fans of the legal drama “Suits.”
William was excited for his brother. But things took a decidedly unfavorable turn once the couple got to know Meghan.
Meghan saw how William and Kate lived and desperately wanted a piece of the pie. She constantly compared what she and Harry had to what William and Princess Catherine had, which caused tension.
Meghan, who didn’t understand how the line of succession worked, thought Harry deserved better.
She convinced Harry to ask Charles for lavish handouts, but he turned them down flat. The couple was furious. At first, the public reacted positively to Meghan.
But then her true colors began to show. In 2018, the “Fab Four” made their first public appearance together at the Royal Foundation Forum, which was supposed to center on mental health.
When Meghan’s turn came to speak, she redirected the conversation toward women’s empowerment and feminism, taking the spotlight away from William and Catherine’s cause. The (then) Cambridges looked extremely uncomfortable.
When it came time for Harry and Meghan’s wedding, there was an argument about Princess Charlotte’s flower girl dress.
Kate said Meghan made her cry, but Meghan swears it was the other way around. Tensions between the two couples continued to flare for the next two years.
Meghan Claimed There Were “Concerns” Over The Darkness Of Archie’s Skin
Harry and Meghan stepped down as working royals in January 2020 and left the UK, leaving Queen Elizabeth devastated.
We all know what went down next. Out of nowhere, Meghan accused the royal family of racism during her and Harry’s jaw-dropping interview with Oprah in March 2021.
The Duchess of Sussex claimed that there had been several “concerns” and “conversations” over the “darkness” of Prince Archie’s skin.
William was shocked and enraged as the Sussexes continued to speak publicly about the royal family, specifically Harry, for openly discussing private matters and Meghan for making unfounded and outrageous claims about the royals to the media.
Kate Middelton pushed for a tough statement in order to “slap down” on Meghan’s claims. The Palace released a declaration on behalf of the Queen, which said,
“The issues raised, particularly that of race, are concerning. While some recollections may vary, they are taken very seriously and will be addressed by the family privately.”
The original statement had been much tamer, but William and Kate wanted to make a strong pronouncement.
It was Kate who included the powerful phrase, “Recollections may vary.” William also challenged the allegations and said to the reporters,
“We are very much not a racist family.”
In his new biography of Kate Middleton, Royal author Robert Jobson said that Kate made the decision to attack Meghan hard.
In the Dutch edition of Omid Scobie’s book, “Endgame,” Meghan allegedly named Charles and Kate as the “royal racists.” They took a dignified, “Never complain, never explain” stance and responded silently.
