‘General Hospital’ (GH) spoilers find that Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) wants Cyrus Renault (Jeff Kober) taken out. Sonny’s original gangsta, Jason Morgan (Steve Burton), is presumed dead. So what is a mob boss to do?
‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: Sonny Will Test Dex’s Loyalty
He decides to utilize Dex Heller (Evan Hofer) as a solution. Dex is not necessarily a killer. Dex joined the army right out of high school, served in Afghanistan, and has seen war. He was an MMA fighter and was obligated to serve his country.
Sonny will soon put a hit on Cyrus, and he will no doubt enlist Dex to do the job. Sonny will be testing Dex’s loyalty. He wants to know that Dex will follow his orders.
Josslyn Jacks (temporarily played by Courtney Fulk) will not be too happy if Dex murders someone for Sonny. This will add a complex layer to the unfolding drama.
Dex will not know what to do. Like Jason, his first allegiance must be to Sonny. However, Dex does not want to rock the boat with Josslyn.
Sonny had no problem almost beating the life out of Cyrus. He was looking for a way to explode on someone, and Cyrus happened to be in the church.
His actions put Cyrus in the hospital, and Cyrus’s concerned sister, Laura Collins (Genie Francis), was more than disappointed in Sonny.
Dex’s romance with Josslyn may be enough to stop him from going through with it. After all, he doesn’t want to go to jail and leave his lady love. Dex will be very conflicted.
‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: Sonny May Have a Change of Heart
Cyrus will be in the dark about who may be coming for him. He thinks he has the upper hand against Sonny because the law has to be on his side.
So Dex will have a decision to make. Torn between loyalty to Sonny and wanting to do what’s right, Dex and Joss will need to decide together.
The real twist comes after Sonny has a heart-to-heart with Laura, who shares with him that deep down, she wants to get to know her brother.
Laura explains to him how taking out his anger on Cyrus was wrong, no matter how good it may have felt at the time. Sonny realizes he’s about to do something that would hurt the mayor irrevocably.
Not to mention, Sonny may change his mind about putting Dex in that position. He knows that Joss isn’t his biggest fan and doesn’t want to take Dex away from the girl he still thinks of as his daughter.
But Dex and Joss decide it may be best to get rid of Cyrus once and for all. Who would miss him? Sonny must find Dex before he does something he can’t take back, and he kills on the wrong side of the law instead of for a noble reason, like being a soldier.
Dex will be on the verge of doing the dirty deed, and Sonny will race to stop him. If Dex goes through with it, he will be a killer. There are no two ways about it.
Sonny will try to get to Dex before it’s too late. Will he succeed?
