Mickey Rourke shared on Instagram Tuesday that he recently fell and split his head open. However, the reason behind it may sound a bit strange. Turns out the 69-year-old actor wiped out while skateboarding. The ‘Killshot’ actor shared the photo of his head and wrote in the caption, “Looks like my skateboarding days over.”
This prompted a ton of comments to pop up, either supporting him or condemning his choice of recreation. No one knows if he was skateboarding for fun or if this could potentially be for a film role that he’s cast for, but either way, seems like he should put the board away, right?

Some fans supported his decision to skateboard, “Wow..I hope your alright. I’m 55 and still skating. 🙏”, “Helmet!!! Mike Vallely always wears one!! Hope you get better!”, “C’mon Mickey! You know the drill, when you fall down pick yourself up dust yourself off and try try again!😂😂👍 But judging from the gash you got maybe you’re right ! Get well soon brother!🙏” and “Never say never bro, get some safety pads and a helmet,get bk out there bless”.
However, some fans were not as forgiving and encouraged him to hang up the pads. “Micky [sic] and I are both going on 70 which means certain things like skateboarding is not a good idea”, “No more knocks to the head mate. We need ya working without a prompter” and “Dude you’re 65. Chill out or it’ll be your hip next time.”
The photo is half-covered by his hand, and we’re not really sure how bad the wound actually is on his head based on the shot. I think the deeper issue is what’s going on inside the skull and the potential brain damage from smashing his head. Either way, if he decides to go back out he should definitely put on a helmet.
