Ice Cube has come under fire by critics who claim he doesn’t pay the actors who appear in his films enough, namely ‘Friday’.

Cube came out on Twitter defending himself saying he robbed no one.

“The 1995 Friday movie cost $2.3m to make. Shot it in 20 days. Fazion worked 1 day, maybe 2. All the actors got p

aid scale to do the movie. They couldn’t simple said “No” but they didn’t.“

I didn’t rob no fuckin body. The 1995 Friday movie cost $2.3m to make. Shot it in 20 days. Fazion worked 1 day, maybe 2. All the actors got paid scale to do the movie. They could’ve simple said “No” but they didn’t. So miss me with that shit… https://t.co/2K1dUFZ489

One Twitter critic continued by saying, “I thought i heard chris tucker quit over money.” Cube retweeted this saying,

“We were ready to pay Chris Tucker $10-12m to do Next Friday but he turned us down for religious reasons. He didn’t want to cuss or smoke weed on camera anymore.“

Faizon Love has been in the news lately for his comments about a black ‘Elf’, as he was a part of that production as well. Is he just throwing everything at the wall to see what will stick?

It seems Ice Cube wasn’t hearing it and quickly shut down those rumors. It’s not abnormal for actors to work for scale and especially in a smaller production like the original ‘Friday’ film was shot. So his claims, while already minuscule, were shattered more by the fact that Cube wasn’t putting up with it.

Plus, $2,500, for a day or two or working on a movie set sounds like a pretty good deal to me. Sign me up. Sounds like Faizon is upset that it’s become such a cult classic with a large following.

What do you think? Do you think Ice Cube underpaid people or is Faizon just looking for some headlines? Let us know in the comments below.
