This is giving everyone a reason to be concerned, for sure. There’s a new report that says Queen Elizabeth has canceled all of her royal engagements and public appearance for the next two weeks, as her royal doctors have advised the monarch to stay home and rest.
Earlier in the week, the Queen also announced that she will be skipping the climate control conference (COP26) in Scotland, too. Here’s what you need to know.
Queen Elizabeth Forced To Cancel Royal Engagements For Two Weeks
While the Queen is apparently in “good spirits,” sources say that her medical team are simply taking sensible precautions.
Buckingham Palace has said in a statement: “Following on from their recent advice that the Queen should rest for a few days, Her Majesty’s doctors have advised that she should continue to rest for at least the next two weeks.
The doctors have advised that Her Majesty can continue to undertake light, desk-based duties during this time, including some virtual audiences [the receiving of ambassadors], but not to undertake any official visits. Her Majesty regrets that this means she will be unable to attend the Festival of Remembrance on Saturday November 13.
However, it remains The Queen’s firm intention to be present for the National Service of Remembrance on Remembrance Sunday, on November 14.”
However, Queen Elizabeth is feeling supposedly “pissed” that she’s being forced to slow down.
One source close to the situation told the Daily Beast, “There is very much a desire to get out there, to get back to normal, back to business.”
If that weren’t enough, a separate report suggests the Queen doesn’t want to spend time alone. In private, the queen has had “a constant flow of lunches and dinners with family and friends, because the queen does not want to dine alone,” sources told the Times. The Queen is also spending a lot of time with family, including her sons Prince Edward and Prince Andrew.
Of course, many royal critics have commented on the matter on social media with, “No one is on the same page. The Queen is stubborn and doesn’t want anything to change. Charles wants more influence and power (and should get it in my opinion. He may be a shit Dad, but at least he has a work ethic). And William is actively trying to usurp Charles by leaking on him. I wouldn’t be surprised if William leaked about the Queen’s hospitalization as someone here suggested. He needs to feed the media beast and he’s got no Sussex scoops anymore.”
