Prince William might have the task of being the future king of England, but that doesn’t mean he doesn’t have the time to be the present father of his household.
There’s a new report that says both William and his wife Kate Middleton have been supporting their three children while they cope with the grief of knowing that their great-grandfather Prince Philip has passed away. The Duke of Edinburgh died back in April, and just one month shy of his 100th birthday. Here’s what you need to know.
Here’s How Prince William And Kate Middleton Helped Their Children Understand Prince Philip’s Passing
According to reports, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have sat down with their three children – Prince George, 8, Princess Charlotte, 6, and 3-year-old Prince Louis – to talk about the passing of their great-grandfather.
Royal expert Duncan Larcombe told OK! Magazine: “I’m certain that William and Kate will have sat down with the children and been very honest and straightforward, talking about what a wonderful life he had, his great age and the circle of life.
In many ways it’s very difficult for the royals because they don’t have the luxury most families have of being able to wait until their children are old enough to understand events.”
He added, “So William and Kate have had to come up with a way of explaining to the young royals what’s happened so that they hear it from mum and dad rather than school friends or via social media.”
So far William and Kate themselves have not made any comments about the matter, but William did pay tribute to his grandfather in the BBC documentary, “Prince Philip: The Royal Family Remembers,” which aired on BBC One earlier this week.
