If not now, then when? There’s a new report that suggests Queen Elizabeth might strip her favorite son Prince Andrew from his HRH title. This comes after additional reports say that the Duke of York has been served legal papers over Virginia Roberts’ sexual assault case against him. Here’s what you need to know.

According to reports, Virginia’s attorney provided photos of Fed Ex receipts confirming the delivery of the lawsuit to the Duke of York’s attorney, Andrew B. Brettler, of the law firm Lavely and Singer. Federal law states the prince has 21 days to respond, or he could face a default judgment in the case.

And now one royal expert says that a fed up Queen Elizabeth might strip Andrew from his HRH title. Nigel Cawthorne, who wrote the book, “Prince Andrew: Epstein, Maxwell and the Palace,” believes that the Queen will finally throw the gauntlet at her son, so to speak.

Entertainment Daily reports Nigel as saying: “While we await the judge’s definitive ruling on whether Andrew has been served the palace will need to address on behalf of the Queen the question whether it is proper for a member of the royal family can continue to retain their HRH title while a law suit proceeds against them.”

He added, “This is unchartered territory at best as the prince is adamant that he has no case to answer and has consistently and strenuously denied Giuffre’s accusations. Even so, appearing in court is a grave matter. “The Queen as head of state must surely rise above any reproach and so should doubtless all HRHs in the royal family.

The moment Judge Kaplan agrees that papers have been served on the prince, it is difficult to see how the palace can fail to insist that the prince relinquishes his HRH title to avoid any appearance of the monarchy’s entanglement with the case.”
