And there are a few theories floating around the Stranger Things social media space, of course there is speculation on who will die, because there was a shot of Will Byers (Noah Schnapp) holding someone and crying that was apparently a shot from Vol. 2 and there has been buzz on social media as to who Will could be that upset about.

The first obvious thought is his Mom, because currently both Joyce Byers (Winona Ryder) and Jim Hopper (David Harbour) are stuck in Russia with no way out. That’s the first thought that rushes to everyone’s minds when they think of Will possibly being upset over someone. We think he could be hugging Jonathan in the shot, but we’re not sure.

Will Lucas Sinclair die in Stranger Things S4 Vol. 2?

Of course, there are some in the camp that cite a far pettier reason for Will’s tears and that is possibly because Mike Wheeler (Finn Wolfhard) doesn’t return the alleged feelings that he has for him. Again, this is pure fandom speculation and is not show canon but apparently a few fans on social media like to really tout that theory.

There are theories as to who is going to die this season, since, so far, the core four plus El are still together on this plane of existence. One theory that hasn’t really been thrown around that much is the possibility of Lucas Sinclair (Caleb McLaughlin) dying, but the Duffer Brothers just released a statement saying:

“We can’t wait for people to see him in Volume 2, where he delivers one of the most moving, gut-wrenching performances in the history of the show. We’re so proud of him, and we know that this is all just the first part of what is going to be an amazing journey for him as an actor.” that’s high praise coming from the creators of the series, but we are scared for Lucas now.

Is this going to be his last set of lines ever? We hope not! We want to see these four guys graduate and enjoy their time-skip together in season 5! Also, Erica Sinclair (Priah Ferguson) really doesn’t deserve to lose her brother like that.

Again, this is all speculation, but in the world of Stranger Things no one is safe – does this mean that Lucas is going to die? Stranger Things Season 4 Vol. 2 releases on Netflix on July 1st. Stay tuned!!!
