ABC ‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: The 15,000th episode fails to deliver on the hype

ABC ‘General Hospital’ (GH) spoilers reveal the weekly promo teased a major milestone celebration. Thanks to a pre-emption, that celebration came late. However, it wasn’t worth the wait. Here are a few reasons why the episode didn’t work.

ABC ‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: The good

Let’s start off with some positive energy. ‘General Hospital’ spoilers reveal the episode got off to a solid start when Violet Finn (Jophielle Love) and Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) both found themselves awaiting medical attention. Hamilton Finn’s (Josh Swickard) jokes about Harrison Chase (Josh Swickard) and how one doesn’t want to follow his example were amusing.

And Sonny joining in after getting lectured by Finn about overdoing it by claiming Chase did as well was great. It showed a lighter side to Sonny after all the drama. And Violet was adorable as she eventually agreed to obey Mayor Laura Webber (Genie Francis) and not scratch anymore.

We also got a kick out of Britt Westbourne (Kelly Theibaud) getting an MCAT question wrong, then pointing out how that particular question was like algebra—one will never use that information in real medicine. However, things took a turn pretty fast.

ABC ‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: Problem #1

First off, ‘General Hospital’ spoilers reveal Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright) was part of the team assembled to help after something called The Friends of Port Charles managed to get a recall petition on her. Sure, as a business owner and someone who is connected to Laura, it’s not out there for her to be in the room. However, after what happened at that visitation hearing, there is no way Carly would be in a room with Scott Baldwin (Kin Shriner) and not shoot him death glares every few seconds.

ABC ‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: Problem #2

Overall, the episode felt choppy and disorganized. Almost as though it had been put together in a rush. While it was nice to see a couple of flashbacks, there was just not enough coherent story for us. And it was just weird that Laura would just assume Bobbie Spencer (Jacklyn Zeman) signed that petition as a revenge thing. After all those years? We think someone needs a vacation to get her head straight.

Speaking of… that little rebuttal voiceover at the end was meant to hit all the right chords. However, there’s one thing wrong with it. She shouldn’t have even bothered writing it. And certainly not as though she’s accepting the recall and whatever comes of it.

Bobbie herself said she was duped. She thought she was signing a petition to save whales. That means her signature is fraudulent and invalid. While Bobbie mentioned others might have been tricked as well, it wasn’t treated as the smoking gun it should have been. Maybe no one really wanted to recall her? That’s certainly a legal challenge.

ABC ‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: Problem #3

Ordinarily, we like Cyrus Renault (Jeff Kober). His religious conversion amused us before. However, his extreme stand of helping to remove the “sinful” Laura from office with that op-ed was strange. Especially since he was so desperate to get her to believe his changed ways, as he didn’t try to kill her. So, he knew someone else had targeted her and Martin Grey (Michael E. Knight) and wanted her to be on her guard. So why try to ruin her career?

Plus, we call foul on his presence in Pentonville. Why on earth would the Feds let a prisoner out of their custody? Especially when everyone went on about his confinement in the Mid-West meant he was away from any influences/connections. It rang totally false, no matter how religious he’s supposed to be now.
