I think I speak for everyone when I say that reading Britney Spears’ own words, made me unequivocally angry, hearing how she had been treated by her own family, like she was some sort of machine or farm animal that didn’t have feelings.
Her own Father described her as “like a racehorse” and how she should be “maintained like one” but honestly? Even racehorses get breaks, they’re called “runs”, and Britney hasn’t had a good run in a long time it seems like.
Britney Spears deserves her freedom
Britney sat down with Judge Brenda Penny and let the court livesteam her testimony. She went into detail about how she hasn’t owned her own money in a long time and can’t even offer a member of her team an energy drink without having to ask permission from her Father. She couldn’t even stain her own cabinets because he deemed it as “too expensive” (in what universe is a can of paint too expensive for a grown woman worth $50 million?
Is the paint lined with bitcoin code or something?) and her boyfriend can’t even drive her in his own car because he doesn’t have permission. Also, according to Iggy Azalea, back in 2014 when she went to spend the day with the singer she had to agree to have her house searched by Britney’s team.
Speaking of friends, Britney said that she used to do AA meetings and actually has a lot of friends from those meetings that live literally 8 minutes from her, but due to her team being so controlling, she can never visit them and they can never visit her unless they agree to have their house searched. She said that she has been trying, quietly, for 7 years to end the conservatorship but that so far she’s gotten shot down every time.
She did not realize that she even had the option of petitioning the courts to end the conservatorship and apologized to the judge for this ignorance, but honestly… it’s not her fault that she wasn’t aware of that because I don’t think anyone on her team informed her that she had this option.
Let’s face it, the girl was trained to be a popstar, not a lawyer, she shouldn’t be expected to know everything but she is entitled to have at least one person on her side in this battle.
It doesn’t look like she has that. Right now, her best bet is Samuel Ingham, but I’m a bit skeptical of that relationship. Last year it was said that Britney was like a coma patient and couldn’t speak for herself – well she sure proved that theory wrong in the testimony she gave to Judge Penny!
Yes, there were a few details that were a little vague, but you have to remember that this girl was on Lithium, a drug that she said made her so complicit with everyone that she could not fight back and would literally do everything everybody wanted. This tells me that Britney didn’t need the drug, her team just needed her on it because they needed her compliant in whatever they were doing.
She says that she can never say ‘no’ to her team without them acting like it’s some grand epic tragedy, she illustrated this by telling the judge that one time the team wanted her to do a dance routine a certain way and she disagreed, saying that she didn’t want to do that move, but a different one. That’s about the time they switched her to Lithium to make her more compliant.
Her team will spread lies about her and say that she’s difficult to work with and the only thing she is asking for is basic human rights, the ability to say no, own her own money, and make her own decisions.
Jamie Spears needs to realize that his daughter is not some prized piece of livestock (maybe he should contact Bob Baffert, they could trade stories, I’m sure.) and that the only ‘maintenance’ she needs is the ability to heal from all of his years of gaslighting and abuse.
Her team needs to back off, in fact, Britney needs to be able to fire each and every one of them and have them leave her premises immediately. She probably doesn’t need that large of a team anyway, if she’s just going to live on her own.
Speaking of healing, Britney has said that she wants the ability to be able to see her therapist once a week, because multiple therapy sessions a week is too much (honestly, yes) and she wants to be able to do it from home. Thousands of people take therapy at home, why on earth does Britney have to go to an actual therapists office when there are places online like betterhelp.com and talkspace who do the exact same thing for a fraction of the cost that that high-priced therapist is costing her?
Why? Because of publicity, her team is so greedy and just wants her name in the headlines, papparrazzi taking pictures of her leaving a therapist’s office in tears signs their paychecks.
Also it seems that Britney’s children have literally been held over her head from the moment that she had them. Her Father does not want her having any more children so she has an IUD, she says that she wants the ability to get the IUD taken out and to be able to ahve another baby, that should be her decision and hers alone, not her Father’s.
Britney doesn’t have the right to her own body right now and that is truly disturbing. Why a parent would think they have the right to step in this far and literally prevent their child from existing beyond a moneymaking robot is beyond the pale.
Britney’s Father and the rest of her team has forced her to do many programs by holding her existing children over her head, saying that if she doesn’t do these programs that she won’t be able to see them. This is unfair because it’s clear to see that Britney, for the most part, is in her right mind and she can advocate for herself and she is able to speak up, but she has been afraid to because they keep telling her that if she does she will be sued or wind up in court.
Well, honestly, it lead to a court hearing anyway, so what they’ve been threatening has finally come true. I hope that the judge is persuaded by Brtiney’s testimony to end her pain and end her conservatorship permanently.
These types of things may benefit some people, when they’re actually unable to advocate for themselves, and when they are surrounded by family who are actually supportive, and not just in it for the money that they can make off the person in question.
However, if this testimony doesn’t earn Britney her freedom, then we’ll know one thing, that freedom have a price and that Judge Penny knows the exact dollar amount. Stay tuned!!!
