Paris Hilton has no hard feelings towards Britney Spears after the latter stated she did not believe Paris’ story of being abused during her years in high school.
Britney Spears’ Casts Doubts On Whether Paris Hilton Was Abused
Britney and Paris have a friendship spanning over a decade. This is to be expected given that they both have experienced mass turbulence in their lives. And yet, Britney came out publicly to state how she did not believe Paris’ account in the aftermath of her own conservatorship battle with her father, Jamie Spears.
In an official statement, Britney said: “To be honest with you, the Paris Hilton story on what they did to her at that school, I didn’t believe any of it. I’m sorry. … I’m an outsider, and I’ll just be honest, I didn’t believe it, and maybe I’m wrong.”
Paris, for her part, claimed that she had been abused during her time at Utah’s Provo Canyon School. And things were made even more difficult as she testified about it in front of a senate committee. During this time, Paris broke down as she recalled the horrors that she went through.
In an official statement given at the Utah Senate, Paris stated: “I was verbally, mentally and physically abused on a daily basis. I was cut off from the outside world and stripped of all my human rights. I was not allowed to be myself.” Despite Britney’s revelations, Paris’ social media activity indicated that she did not take Britney’s comments to heart.
Fans on social media revealed how they hoped that Paris did not take those comments personally. The comment from the fan stated: “I hope Paris Hilton doesn’t take what Britney said personally. What she meant was that she understood how hard it was to be believed by people on the outside looking in. I’m sure she believes her now.”
In response to the comment, Paris issued a like on social media to express her approval. It is quite clear that Britney and Paris have more in common than that which divides them. By Britney coming out and addressing her demons, it provides the perfect opportunity to rekindle her close friendship with Paris, who equally called out her tormentors.
