Britney Spears wants to say sorry for deceiving the public for so long. The chart topper apologized for apparently “pretending to be okay” after her seismic conservatorship testimony. The chart topper addressed her bombshell hearing and all of the fans who have supported her throughout the years. Here’s what she has to say.
Britney took to her Instagram account on Thursday to tell her fans thank you for being there for her through the good times and the bad while also apologizing to them for pretending that everything has been okay behind the scenes, when it wasn’t.
Britney Spears Makes Major Apology Following Court Hearing
Britney made it clear that she wants her conservatorship to end immediately without any testing and does not want to attend therapy twice a week. She also wants to handpick her own attorney.
“I believe as people we all want the fairy tale life and by the way I’ve posted … my life seems to look and be pretty amazing,” the pop star wrote alongside a quote attributed to Albert Einstein, reading, “If you want your children to be intelligent, read them fairy tales. If you want them to be more intelligent, read them more fairy tales.”
“I apologize for pretending like I’ve been ok the past two years,” she continued. “I did it because of my pride and I was embarrassed to share what happened to me … but honestly who doesn’t want to capture [their] Instagram in a fun light!!!!”
As many fans already know, Britney Spears’ conservatorship is split into two parts – one is for her estate and financial affairs, the other is for her as a person. Under this legal agreement, the singer has not controlled her finances since 2008.
Britney has previously made her feelings about the court-ordered conservatorship known through her lawyer Samuel Ingham, including last year, when he said she was scared of her father and would not perform again while he controlled her life.
