Netflix’s ‘Army of the Dead’ has exploded onto the streaming service and their top 10 over the weekend. The film stars Dave Bautista and is directed and written by Zack Snyder. It’s a fun genre film that features a ton of little easter eggs to other notable franchises like ‘Alien’ and viewers seem to be enjoying it. I know I did.

However, there’s a lot of things you may not have realized that went into creating the film, and the genius of Snyder to solve a lot of these problems. Notably, Chris D’Elia was removed from the film and comedian Tig Notaro replaced him. However, this was well after shooting, and Notaro was shot on a green screen and digitally added in. Hearing Snyder’s process and how he matched the shot was pretty incredible to listen to.

Take a look at Snyder’s video from Vanity Fair as he breaks down his heist scene, as well as how he edited Notaro into the film.

“In this episode of ‘Notes On A Scene,’ Director Zack Snyder breaks down a zombie heist scene from ‘Army of the Dead.’ Zack guides us through the nuances and challenges of working with CGI zombies, and explains how he was able to edit Tig Notaro into his ‘Army of the Dead’ universe.”

Viewers commented on the video, “You have the Snyder cut of justice league over there” This man is a badass”, “I can listen to this guy talk about making movies for days. He’s passionate. And honest”, “Insane how Tig was inserted into the film. Would have never known.” and “Zack Snyder can break down the opening of a toffee cover and we’ll see it.”

What do you think? Have you watched ‘Army of the Dead’ yet and what did you think of Dave Bautista in the lead role? Let us know in the comments below.
