It promises to be an exciting first appearance for SmackDown at the Thunderdome this Friday night, as the WWE begin their residence at the Amway Center. There is great intrigue among fans to see how this new concept will play out, as fans will be in attendance virtually for the tapings. SmackDown will offer a first look at how the idea may play out, but there is no shortage of exciting things happening on SmackDown this week.

It is the final show before SummerSlam, which means there will be progression in all of the main storylines on the brand. The biggest names on the roster will be in attendance for the show, with rivalries for the Universal Championship and SmackDown Women’s Championship likely to be progressed.

WWE SmackDown: Braun Strowman Reacts To Fiend

It has already been teased that Braun Strowman will be looking to unleash pain on another superstar this week, after coming to blows with Alexa Bliss during last week’s episode.

The mind games continued last week, as Strowman disappeared as The Fiend appeared to save Bliss from the wrath of the monster. In a strange turn of events to close the show, it would now appear as though Strowman is in the mind of Fiend.

There will likely be a reaction on this week’s episode, but it will be intriguing to see which superstar Strowman has set his sights on attacking. It would almost seem as though Strowman is now the heel in this storyline, as the Fiend tried to save Bliss during last week’s show, which means that it will be interesting to see what happens next.

    WWE SmackDown: Intercontinental Championship Match

Aside from the continued feud between Strowman and Fiend, the biggest match on the card on SmackDown will see Jeff Hardy and AJ Styles go head to head for the Intercontinental Championship. There is a layer of disappointing that we won’t be seeing this match at SummerSlam, but it does ensure that there is a huge appearance on WWE’s Thunderdome debut.

It would be incredibly hard to see past Styles regaining the title, but regardless the match should be an entertaining affair. Also, Bayley and Sasha Banks will likely address their recent defeat on Raw.

Asuka set to appear to build her upcoming match against Bayley for the SmackDown Women’s Championship. Meanwhile, fans will also be interested to see what happens next with Retribution, and whether they will appear on SmackDown.
