There’s a new report that suggests Harry and Meghan have been hit with a “devastating” backlash as even France has turned their back on the Sussexes by lambasting the couple in the media. While Meghan Markle has gotten a lot of praise in the U.S. following her appearance on “The Ellen DeGeneres” show, she and Harry have been the subject of some heavy criticism following their recent outings in New York City.
Why Is France Turning Its Back On Prince Harry And Meghan Markle?
Over in France, the magazine Paris Match printed a scathing piece of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex after Meghan was forced to apologize to a court for making a misleading statement in her privacy case against the Mail on Sunday after they published a letter she had sent to her father, Thomas Markle, Sr. Its front-page headline translates to: “Why Meghan lied.” Another headline in the magazine reads: “The mask slips.”
Royal expert Peter Allen says “the French media has been quite respectful towards them in the past” but that the most recent headlines for the Sussexes “are devastating.”
Sun on Sunday Political Editor David Wooding added: “Harry and Meghan’s public profiles [are] starting to change for the worse outside the UK too, it seems.”
Others have commented on the matter with, “You can fool some of the people some of the time; most of the people most of the time; but not all of the people all of the time. Pity the Montecito Markles haven’t figured that out!” along with, “Meghan Markle was widely praised in the US on Thursday evening following her light-hearted sit down with comedian and veteran chat show host Ellen DeGeneres. Really what i saw she looked like she needed a Shrink . The French calling her who wouldn’t with her ridiculous plastic actress antics she is an embarrassment.”
