What Happened To David Dobrik’s pizza shop?

After months of teasing on social media, especially over snapchat (but not youtube because David Dobrik doesn’t do youtube anymore) Doughbrik’s Pizza Shop, the pizza shop owned by David Dobrik, has opened on Sunset Blvd in LA.

One tiktokker boasted about “getting there first” but someone in her comments informed her of the bad news – she wasn’t first after all. There was a man before her who had been on the road for 3 days in order to get in at Doughbrik’s and try their pizza. Talk about a dedicated fan!!!

Also, David Dobrik did something kind of interesting with his brand – instead of reaching out to say, food influencers on social media, he only reached out to people that were his actual friends who were in the influencer space in order to review his stuff.

To some this might seem like Dobrik is gun-shy and honestly, yes, since he was cancelled by the whole Durte Dom situation and subsequently the lawsuit with Jeff Wittek, he probably doesn’t want to reach out to people that he doesn’t know. He wants to play it safe.

It would seem that his pizza shop started trending on Apple Maps, something that Dobrik wasn’t even sure you could do (neither were we) and he had people lining up to try his pizza.

Dobrik even instituted a token system where if you bought an entire pie you got a gold coin that you could either trade for ice cream, or you could stick it in the wall at the pizza place and activate a dance party… meaning a bunch of lights come down and this Abba song plays. (Why Abba? Why not, I suppose?)

Over on Tiktok he even advertised that for the first day only, people would have a chance to win $1,000 if they came in and exchanged their gold coin and spun this wheel that he had set up outside the place.

Dobrik seems to be going back to his roots as the guy who gives away things, after all, that’s kind of where he started. But is he potentially inviting more hate from disgruntled customers who didn’t win any money? It begs the question. Stay tuned!!!
