U.S. District Judge, Lewis Kaplan has ruled that the trial in the sexual assault lawsuit filed against Prince Andrew by Virginia Roberts Giuffre will go ahead, but will not take place until the fall of 2022.

Judge Kaplan explained that he would liked to have set a trial date immediately, however, this was not possible due to COVID-19 restrictions.

“I anticipate somewhere in the September-to-December period of next year,” Kaplan told lawyers regarding the timing of the trial, in order to accommodate for juror’s safety.

Prince Andrew May Face U.S. Trial Next September, Judge Rules.

Though the jury trial won’t be for almost a year, preparations have started with dates set in 2021 for briefs, motions and all other legal shenanigans the lawyers need to go through.

Meanwhile, Prince Andrew’s lawyers have filed a motion to dismiss the case, which Judge Kaplan still has to rule on. They want Giuffre’s lawsuit thrown out, saying her accusations are “too vague” regarding “when-and-where details”. They are also questioning the constitutionality of New York’s “look back” law, allowing survivors of childhood sex abuse to sue their alleged abusers years later.

There is a ton of ‘he said, she said’ going on with this case, all which is playing out now and may determine if the Duke of York will need to travel to New York to face the sex abuse of a minor charges.

Prince Andrew’s accuser, Giuffre is being sued herself for defamation by another Jeffrey Epstein accuser, Rina Oh. Oh claims that Giuffre asserted Oh was Epstein’s girlfriend and recruited girls for him to abuse. Oh calls this “false and defamatory bile”. On the flip side, Prince Andrew has recently claimed that Giuffre was the head of recruiting “slutty girls” for Epstein’s pleasure.

If the case does come to fruition, it sounds like both sides will have staunch supporters and detractors and it will be one of the most sensational trials to take place in New York with such a famous name being accused of such disgusting charges.
