TLC ’90 Day Fiancé’ spoilers indicate that Deavan Clegg and Jihoon Lee of 90 day fiancé the other way have broken up. Sadly, they did not stand the test of time when it came to their relationship. However, in her time there, Deavan did pass a rather major cultural hurdle. And that was the acceptance of a blended family.
Apparently in Korean culture, it’s unheard of to have a blended family such as Deavan and Jihoon’s. In Korean culture it’s rare for someone to have a child with someone from a previous relationship and then move on to someone else and have children with that person.
TLC ’90 Day Fiancé’ Spoilers: Deavan passed a major cultural hurdle.
From what I’m gathering, Korean culture is a lot more conservative than American culture. Deavan was shaking in her boots, when she found out that Jihoon’s older generation Grandma was going to be at the 100 day celebration for baby Taeyang, but surprisingly, Grandma seemed pretty chill about the whole thing. In fact, you could say that she was downright sweet.
It was the interaction before with Jihoon’s Mom that kind of had me worried, but that was before I watched the entire thing. Some might argue that Jihoon’s Mom was a little rough on Deavan while they were in the kitchen.
After all, she did tell Deavan not to really say anything except hello, which, yeah I guess you could say that was a thinly veiled warning not to start drama. But the cooking interaction had me rolling. Deavan’s Mom really wasn’t judging her, she was laughing because Deavan seemed so helpless about the matter. You could tell that Deavan has not spent much time in the kitchen at all. And what on earth was that that she was chopping, a yam, or a carrot? I couldn’t tell.
It looked like the dishes of the day mainly consisted of veggies. I saw Jihoon’s Mom put what looked to be sliced mushrooms into a skillet, but I could be wrong about that, I have no idea. Jihoon was especially attentive to little Drasilla this time around.
He specifically asked at the party, “Where is Drasilla?” and agreed to keep hold of her hand when they went outside while Deavan and his Mom cooked. (Although arguably, you could see the terror in Deavan’s eyes when Jihoon even mentioned taking her outside. Yike!)
The day seemed to go well, and that’s good. If anything those two needed a good day between them, However it looks like Elicia does not want to leave and she feels like she’s leaving her daughter and Grandchildren with a 16 year old boy. I don’t know if it’s fair to compare JIhoon to a 16 year old, but we’ll see what happens as the season wears on. Stay tuned!!!
