Lana and David met on an international dating site. The dating site is not free and there is a fee that users need to pay per minute of online chatting. David and Lana have been chatting on this site for seven years. He admitted that he has paid over $100,000 to this website. When he mentions to Lana that he would like to call her on the phone or use Skype, she always gets angry and completely dismisses him. No matter how many times she has blown him off this way, he still thinks that she is real.

David’s friends have tried their hardest to get David to listen to them. His friend Jim took him to the airport and while they were driving, Jim asked David some questions about Lana. Jim asked him why he was going back to the Ukraine to see her when she has already stood him up three other times. David was quick to defend her, but couldn’t seem to have the right answers. He has even told his friends that they have had video chats, so he has seen her face, but the chat doesn’t enable voices, only typing.
To be a popular international dating site, there seem to be a lot of questions about it. If someone is paying over $100,000 to chat with a woman, why would their voices be disabled? Things just don’t add up. On this site, there is no log of existing conversations. These two have been chatting for over 5,000 hours and every single time they have talked has been deleted. If it is anything like Skype, the users are the ones that delete the chats, not the system itself. Again, if you are paying for a service, who is deleting these chats? Is it Lana or is it David?
No matter what evidence his friends bring against her, David still feels that Lana is real and she will finally meet him face to face.
